This Week In Workouts: WOD FTW!

Contributed By Maria Waldron, Author of Lift, Love, Life

Once again, thank the sweet, sweet, Lord, that it's finally Friday! It's been another seriously long week for both the husband and I, but I'm proud to say that everything on our to do list has been accomplished and now I'm ready for some serious family and girl time this weekend. Mucho necessito!

Now on to my week in workouts!

Monday:
Ended up going for a 3 mile run, then finished with an hour yoga session. I worked on my favorite arm balances and then worked on my breathing to try and clear my head. But what I REALLY need to work on are my hip openers and hamstring stretches.

Definitely making note of this for next week.

Tuesday
I did a fun garage WOD that I've done before but never shared here. It's one of my absolute favorites because it strengthens the full body but also gets the heart pumping. And I get to jump rope!

Jump roping always makes me feel like a kid again, even though I have a kid, another one on the way, a husband, and a mortgage.

Hey, whatever keeps you young, right?

Wednesday
Another strength training session for the books. And of course, it consisted of my favorite hunks of metal, kettlebells. Happy dance!

Just a friendly suggestion, if you like kettle bells, try this workout. You're welcome.

Thursday
A personal trainer friend of mine challenged me to try out one of his strength workouts. Challenge accepted!

Here's the plan I was given:

However, I ended up doing deadlifts because I have horrible memory and my mind somehow read "dead clean and press" as deadlifts. Blame it on my pregnancy brain, haha.

And because I don't exactly know how much I weigh right now, I guesstimated my weight to be around 140 and ended up doing 95lb deadlifts.

It was a super fun workout and I'm glad I finished. Not going to lie though, my legs are pretty shaky from those jump squats, ouch, ouch, ouch!

Friday
Because I did 3 full body workouts in a row, I think it's time for me to get my cardio on and go for a run. My goal for today is 3 miles but to sprint all the hills. I'm also hoping to get this run in without pushing 40lbs of baby and monster stroller.

Nudge, nudge, wink, wink to my hunk ;)

This weekend I have a lot of girl time planned, we have a fun photoshoot, and a cookie exchange with the ladies I volunteer with for my husbands unit. So I'm not too worried about working out this weekend. I do have yoga Saturday morning but I think we'll take it easy the rest of the time and enjoy our time away from anything Army related together. Sounds like a perfect, relaxing weekend to me!

Anyone else have something exciting planned for the weekend? Whatever it is, I hope you all enjoy it! Yay FRIDAY! And yay COOKIES!
