Wellness Plan
A wellness plan is a plan of action you set to help you achieve personal wellness. Personal wellness is defined as a state of health, satisfaction and fulfillment on many dimensions. Each of these dimensions has to be developed, maintained, and nurtured to ensure you sustain personal wellness. The wellness plan can touch on different aspects of your life such as emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, social, financial and environmental aspects. Dr. Rohit Suri can help you set up a suitable personal wellness plan that addresses all your needs.
Setting Up The Plan
Before starting on the plan, you should be completely honest with yourself about how satisfied you feel in every aspect of your wellness. This will help you create a wellness plan tailored to your needs. You can write a list of all the important aspects in your life and touch on each, ranking them from one to ten. One is the poorest and ten the best. This will help you determine which areas of your life need attention. However, you should still focus on all aspects, as they are all related to each other. As soon as you've identified all the areas you need to work on, start setting your targets and objectives, making sure to write each specific goal that will move you towards your long-term objectives. Ensure the long-term goals are reasonable and doable. For example, an unreasonable goal would be becoming a billionaire in the next two years while you're currently way off the mark. You should be patient with yourself as personal development does not happen overnight. Don't get discouraged. Keep track of your progress by making a chart or journal where you'll outline all the aspects of your personal wellness journey. Being able to see the positive effects of what you've accomplished may be the motivation you need.
Assessment
Begin with physical wellness. Physical wellness includes both nutrition and exercise, and these should be assessed. Health-promoting practices include going in for regular checkups and using preventative healthcare. It also includes avoiding recreational drug use, alcohol consumption and smoking. Use questions to assess your physical wellness, for example, ask yourself what your physical goals are, and which aspects of your body need more attention. With nutrition, ensure your body is well-nourished and the food you eat supports your body. See how your diet serves your health and look for areas of improvement.
Mental, Spiritual And Relationships
Mental wellness relates to how you deal with difficult situations and how well- balanced your emotions are. Consider how your mental condition is at the present. Ask yourself what emotions you deal with regularly, and what improvements you would like to see. With your spiritual wellness, consider how fulfilled you feel in your life, especially with regards to your sense of purpose. Spiritual wellness is not about religion or faith, but how you perceive the meaning of life and what role you play in it. It means you're able to find inner peace, hope, and comfort in life.
Assess your relationship wellness, which is concerned with how well you're aware of, accepting and dealing with your feelings and the feelings of those around you. If you have a healthy emotional and relationship wellness, it means you feel supported and resilient. Look at your present relationships, self-esteem, and life outlook. Try to find any areas you can make improvements. Assess if you're happy or if you feel weighed down by your emotions.
