  • "I wholeheartedly endorse Michael Schiemer’s work as a personal trainer. I met Michael about seven years ago. At that time, I was taking courses at Merrimack College as part of my sabbatical. Michael was a student at Merrimack College. One of my aims for my sabbatical was to improve my health and general fitness. I was 50 years old at that time and had never been to a gym. I never really saw myself as the athletic type though I knew physical fitness, both nutrition and exercise, were important to maintain good health. I saw Michael’s ad as a personal trainer and contacted him. He was punctual and focused on me during my sessions with him. I know that I felt awkward — a 50 year old man working out in a gym with college students. His personality helped me to feel at ease and was encouraging. I made a lot of progress during the time I worked with him. I lost 30 pounds which I have kept off and felt physically stronger and more agile. In one sense he helped me to make some lifestyle changes which have been beneficial to my life. When I returned to ministry after sabbatical I joined a gym and worked with a personal trainer. I was not able to go to the gym as frequently but I tried to make gym part of my weekly routine. I have since been transferred to a new parish and am trying to make exercise and nutrition a part of my life. At the age of 57 I realize how important it is.
