7 Reasons To Consider Daycare For Your Pooch

reasons consider dog daycare pooch sitting dogs pet walking

Groups of dogs running or playing around; wide, open-mouthed grins, puppies relaxing after fun activities-this is what you might have imagined an ideal dog daycare facility looks like. Well, for the most part, it does!

Many of the dog owners leave their dogs alone all day long while working. The loneliness, lack of interaction for long periods may lead to disobedience, excessive barking, or stress in dogs. Moreover, it may affect their health. This is where the role of a dog daycare facility comes to play!

If you aren’t sure if a daycare setup is right for your pup, here are some of the reasons that may help you to get clear on your confusion.

Your Pooch Will Learn How To Socialize

Dogs are social animals; they love playing with other dogs. If your puppy or dog isn’t exposed to the other dogs, they make become anti-social. And, an anti-social dog represents anxiety, reactivity, and aggression towards other dogs. Moreover, a rise in dog’s reactivity may be a result of our restrictions on letting them go out and interact with the other dogs naturally.

Therefore, early socialization is the best thing you can do for the young puppies as it will develop their social skills. They’ll learn how to play with others, how to interact with the strange dogs, and what is or isn’t appropriate to do.

They Won’t Feel Lonely Anymore

Your dog can’t actually tell you in words that he’s lonely! He’s likely to show this by chewing the things he shouldn’t or being destructive. As dogs don’t like being alone, you can put them into a daycare facility so that they can live in the company of other dogs. However, make sure to choose a dog boarding or daycare where your precious pooch gets proper care and attention of the personnel.

It Helps Your Dog To Learn Social Clues

Social exposure is important for the overall development of your dog. If he doesn’t get adequate exposure, he may have a hard time reading the other dogs. And, this may lead him to get into conflicts.

You might have seen a group of dogs trying to engage another dog that isn’t interested; hence, he ignores all the warning signs until the other dogs get into an altercation. Such things happen when a dog can’t recognize the signs another dog gives.

In a daycare facility, your dog will live, play with the other dogs, and learn the social clues.

Daycare Activities Will Keep Your Doggy Stimulated

Just like human beings, exercise is crucial for dogs, as well! Many of the daycare centers schedule activities, including wrestling, ball-fetching, chasing, tunnel running, etc. throughout the day that keeps your dog active.

Depending upon the rules of the facility, the dogs may also enjoy the outdoor activities. Proper rest times are also scheduled each day between the activities to ensure that your dog regains energy.

Your Puppy Gets Training Or Dog Education

Your doggy might need a bit more training than you provide at home! Daycares supplement the training with some lessons. There are daycare centers that may teach your dog new tricks or behavior training to help them retain what they are taught.

It’s A Great Way To Change Your Dog’s Routine

Even if your dog is fine at home alone, it’s good to bring change in his daily routine regularly. For this, daycare is like a vacation for him! It will give him some break from barking at the stranger persons or sleeping on the couch.

You Get Peace Of Mind

Owning a dog is like a having kid. Your pooch is another living being dependent on you for survival. Sometimes, it becomes difficult to adjust your already busy schedule and provide proper care to him.

By sending your dog to a daycare center, you get peace of mind that he is well-cared during your working hours. From socializing with other dogs to eating properly, you can rest assured that there is no stressful moment for your lovable puppy.

You need to do some research to choose the best daycare facility for your dog. It will help to cultivate a happy and well-balanced life your dog will enjoy to the fullest!

Are Pets The Key To A Healthier Lifestyle?

pets key healthier lifestyle dog health benefits

Pets can be more than just a companion — they can also improve many aspects of your lifestyle. In this article, Stairlift Flint aims to explore this idea in more detail where they analyse how certain animals in your home can improve both your physical and mental health, your social skills and your body’s ability to fight off the development of allergies…

Physical Health

Numerous pieces of research have been published which suggest that you will feel fitter and healthier if you have a pet within your household.

According to one study reported on by the Mother Nature Network for instance, having a dog could lower the risk of death from cardiovascular disease or other causes. This particular piece of research followed 3.4 million individuals in Sweden — men and women aged between 40 and 80 years old — and examined their health records for around 12 years, as well as whether they owned a dog. Once all the research was compiled, it was found that individuals who lived by themselves but had a dog were able to reduce their risk to death in general by 33 per cent, as well as their risk of death due to a cardiovascular-related issue by 36 per cent, when compared to those who lived alone and without a pet.

Having a dog can give your fitness levels a boost too. A study led by Rebecca A. Johnson, PhD, director of the Research Center for Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, for instance, came to the conclusion that dog walkers improved their fitness more than those who opted to walk with other people instead. Furthermore, a separate piece of research which was published in the Journal of Physical Activity & Health suggested that dog owners were 54 per cent more likely to meet the recommended levels of physical activity than those who didn’t have a dog in their lives.

Caring for fish can also provide teenagers with diabetes with a helping hand for better managing their disease. In a study which News in Health has covered, researchers asked that a group of teenagers with type 1 diabetes cared for a pet fish. Each person involved in the study were asked to look after their fish two times a day, by feeding them and checking their water levels, as well as changing the water in the tank on a weekly basis. The researchers then paired this caretaking routine with the youngsters reviewing their blood glucose logs with their parents. At the end of the study, it was found that the teenagers with fish to care for were more disciplined with checking their own blood glucose levels compared to children who didn’t have a pet to look after.

Mental Health

It’s not just your physical health that can receive a boost by having a pet in your life though, as Gary A. Christenson, MD, chief medical officer at Boynton Health Service at the University of Minnesota, was keen to point out: "Pets often provide and love and they're always there for you. There is a bond and companionship that makes a big difference in mental health."

In fact, a study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology concluded that pet owners had more feelings of belonging and meaningful existence, not to mention a higher self- esteem, than those without pets. Ms Johnson has attempted to shed light on why this is the case, acknowledging: "Pets are completely non-judgmental, don't have an agenda, take you at face value, and they don't care what you look like or how you behave — they love unconditionally, and that boots self-esteem. Confidence can be improved by the fact that dogs love you no matter what, and to the same extent, cats are very loving to their owners."

Just having a pet in the same room can help owners. Ms Johnson explains: "A powerful neurochemical, oxytocin, is released when we look at our companion animal, which brings feelings of joy. It's also accompanied by a decrease in cortisol, a stress hormone."

Fighting Against Allergies

If your family is about to increase in number with the arrival of a new baby, you may want to consider having a pet in your household too. This is after a study that was published in Clinical & Experimental Allergy found that children were less likely to develop hay fever, allergic diseases and eczema when they grew up if they were exposed to pets before they were six months old.

The next time your children are begging for a pet, you may also want to pay their request some attention. This is after research has also suggested that kids who grew up around dogs, cats and farm animals were found to typically have a reduced risk of developing eczema and asthma, as well as stronger immune systems than those who weren’t in such environments at a young age.

Social Skills

As well as improving your health, having a pet can also enhance your social skills significantly.

Take this study carried out by researchers from the University of Western Australia, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition for instance. After almost 2,700 men and women were surveyed in Perth, Australia; San Diego, California; Portland, Oregon; and Nashville, Tennessee, it was established that being a pet owner was the third most common way that people said that they were introduced to others in their neighborhoods.

In fact, pet owners were found to be 60 per cent more likely to get to know others around their neighborhoods who they hadn’t previously known than those without pets.

Writing in PLoS One alongside her colleagues, Dr. Lisa Wood, an associate professor at the University of Western Australia, stated: “Pet ownership appears to be a significant factor for facilitating social interaction and friendship formation within neighborhoods. For animal owners, this also translates into new sources of social support, both of a practical and emotionally supportive nature.”

Then there is a study which has been published in the Journal of Applied Developmental Science, which acknowledged that young adults who had a deep bond to their pets also felt more connected in both their relationships and their communities when compared to non-pet owners. Furthermore, these young adults were found to be more likely to take on leadership roles, were usually more confident and more emphatic as well.

As we have showcased throughout this article, there is so much that we need to thank our pets for!

How CDB Helps To Calm Dogs Experiencing Anxiety

how cbd oil helps calm dogs anxiety cannabidiol canine stress relief

Cannabidiol commonly referred to as CBD is a naturally occurring compound in cannabis plants such as hemp. It is a substance that is still being researched extensively and has increased in popularity in recent years due to its recent legal status in the United States and its many health benefits for both humans and animals.

CBD is extracted from the leaves, flowers, seeds, stalk, and stems of the hemp plant. It is one of the many compounds aside from terpenes, flavonoids, and omega-fatty acids found in the plant. Of all these, cannabidiol is the most popular, the most used and the most researched. You can read more about it here.

The beautiful thing about CBD and its other derivatives is that they contain little to no delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This substance is mostly found in marijuana and it is what is responsible for the psychoactive effect that makes a person high. The hemp plant has little of this substance and in any case, the allowable legal limit is 0.3%.

Cannabidiol is made into different products such as oil, cigarettes, and capsules. For animals, it can be made into treats, biscuits, and soft chews. These products can either be eaten, smoked, ingested using tinctures, inhaled, as a spray, or applied to the skin topically. Of all these products, CBD oil is the most popularly used.

For pet owners, CBD can be used for treating many different medical ailments. A few examples include anxiety, arthritis, inflammation, etc. It can also be used daily for maintaining their well-being even if they are without any ailment.

For dogs experiencing any form of anxiety due to stress, separation, noise, or changes in the environment, administering cannabidiol to pets can help calm their nerves, making them feel better.

What Are The Signs Of Anxiety In Dogs?

Knowing and recognizing if your pet is experiencing anxiety is important as it will enable you deal with it easily. There are several signs that cab indications of this state of being. Depending on the type of anxiety it might be experiencing, some of the symptoms or signs can include:

• Repetitive behavior and constantly panting.
• Avoiding people and uncomfortable situations, withdrawal, and hiding.
• Trembling, tucking its tail between its legs.
• Reduced activity.
• Hyperactivity.
• Panicking.
• Diarrhea.

Dealing With Anxiety In Your Dog

Anxiety is a fairly common occurrence in dogs especially separation anxiety. While taking them to the vet so they can be examined medically is recommended, there are also things you can do to help them with or without medical intervention. Every dog is different but some of the ways to deal with it include:

Leaving the house as quietly as possible so as not to alert it to your departure.
Not saying goodbye, hugging, or kissing on your way out.
 Feeding it before leaving.
Avoid leaving it in or staying in dark rooms.
Setting up a safe and comfortable place such as a bed, warm blanket, etc. for your dog to go when it feels anxious.

Other Solutions Include

Getting your dog to go for a walk and exercise.
For those experiencing anxiety due to noise such as crowds, fireworks, or thunder, you can find a way to keep them distracted.
Taking your pet for a massage occasionally.
 Play calming tunes and music.
 Administering CBD.

How CBD Calms Your Dog

Most animals especially mammals have an endocannabinoid system. It can also be referred to as ECS for short. This is a system that helps to regulate bodily functions in a variety of ways. These functions include things like eating, sleeping, mood, etc.

The ECS contains receptors and these receptors which are located on the surface of cells can transmit whatever they detect outside the cell into it. This then results in the right cellular responses. There are several cannabinoid receptors but CB1 and CB2 are the two major ones.

When CBD is administered to your dog, it binds to these receptors in the ECS. The receptors then transmit this into the cells and this in turn causes the production of substances like serotonin which is a substance that helps to calm the nerves, resulting in the reduction of anxiety in your dog.

Buying CBD

To administer CBD to your dog in any form, be sure to buy quality products from reputable CBD company for pets. This is essential because the CBD market is a very open one and there are several retailers of poor quality products, products that may do more harm to your pet than good. You do not want to put your dog in a worse position than it is.

You can only enjoy the full benefits of this product if you purchase genuine, high quality ones. Ensure this, and you will see the difference in your dog with CBD.

3 Fun Ways To Exercise With Your Dog

fun ways exercise with your dog

There are many ways to exercise your dog inside or outside and these range from high activity exercises to fun games like searching or retrieving inside the house when it is raining outside. But we are going to discuss more canine exercise options below.

Dog Workout Wellness

Indeed exercising your dog doesn’t necessarily limit you to physically tiring activities, a dog also needs to be challenged mentally. Ideally, you exercise your dog regularly in a way that involves both. If you either have a very young or a very old dog you need to be careful with physically tiring activities that involve intense pressure on the joints. On average (and this differs between big sized and smaller sized breeds) a dog is fully grown by the age of 1 ½. Whilst the dog is still growing, avoid repetitive or unnecessary jumping and longer galloping especially on concrete.

However, with both younger and older dogs you still need to exercise them physically, especially young dogs have a lot of excess power. And indeed a moderate strain on the joints is necessary to help them grow and even avoid osteoporosis. This is why the joint fluid needs to be massaged into the gristle in order to keep it healthy and this is happening when you moderately exercise.

A very gentle but still tiring physical activity involves watersports.

#1 Watersports

Although it is not every dog's cup of tea it is worth giving it a try. But do not just throw the dog in the water because it can be traumatising! Ideally, you try to get your dog used to water activities at a young age but don’t worry also older dogs can get used to it. There are many sports your four-legged friend can join you on like kayaking, boating, paddleboarding or even surfing. If your dog is a water freak he will definitely enjoy a walk by the sea or a lake. Dog owners of these kinds of dogs know the struggle too well of giving their dog the opportunity to go and enjoy swimming, getting the dog dry afterwards and keeping it safe whilst in the water. No matter the level of experience your dog has in and around water unfortunate incidents can be just around the corner. Therefore it is recommended to always make your dog wear a life vest or a buoyancy aid. And after the dog has had it’s fun it is useful to always have a compact outdoor towel in your car too, to make sure your dog stays warm and dry afterwards.

#2 Indoor Exercises

If the weather is not playing along very well especially in the winter months you can, for example, play hide and seek with his favourite treats or toys. It is good to mention that some dog breeds (like Alaskan Malamute) just love being outside when it is cold, and snow is actually their favorite treat. You can also keep old cardboard boxes or the inside cardboard roll of kitchen or toilet rolls and fill them with treats. In order to get to the treat, your dog has to open or destroy it which engages him mentally. How stimulating exercises like these can be, can be seen for example with professional search or drug-sniffing dogs. These dogs can just be used around 30 minutes at a time because the sniffing is so exhausting that they need frequent breaks. We as humans underestimate that because our smell organ is not as far developed that we can distinguish between very small odour particles and therefore would be able to use it to that degree. Therefore, don’t underestimate small little exercises like these, they are equally as important as physical exercises.

#3 Go For A Hike Or A Bike

Depending on where you regularly walk your dog, a hike might be a welcome diversification to you and your dogs’ normal daily walk to for example the park. A hike or a bike is a good way to build strength and endurance but start in small steps to get you and your dog used to it. Usually, all types of dogs enjoy time and exercises within nature but besides knowing your and your dogs abilities you as well need to know their level of obedience.

Dog Workout Safety

Since you never know what is waiting around the corner and in case you know for sure that your dog loves to chase animals keep him on a lead if you can’t see very far or you definitely know he’ll run off as soon as he is unleashed. It is not worth the stress, the fine or the loss of the animals or even your dog’s life. If you know your dog is that type, invest in a long leash to make these walks as interesting and fun as possible.

Pets As Therapy: How Animals Can Help Improve Mental Health

pet therapy how animals improve mental health pets fight loneliness

The UK’s a nation of animal lovers, right? Research has discovered that almost 50% of the British homes have a pet, with just over 1 in 4 owning a dog, and nearly 1 in 5 owning a cat. ‘Why?’ you ask. Well, a whopping 90% of pet owners have confirmed that having an animal at home makes them happy while 88% also state that it improves their overall quality of life.

In this interesting guide, we explore as to why this may be the reason:

Combat Depression

Animals can provide love and comfort – both of which you often feel are without if you’re depressed. By owning a pet, you can feel like you have a sense of worth. This is because you will have a regular schedule, knowing that it’s up to you to feed and work your pet, giving you a sense of purpose and a routine.

Taking your pet for a walk also contributes to physical activity, which can consequently help in combating depression. However, you must make sure that you are financially stable, otherwise having another living being dependent on your income may lead to unnecessary stress.

Provide Companionship

Being lonely is one of the biggest issue that Britain faces. According to figures, most people will feel lonely at some point in their lives and currently 1.9 million older people in the UK feel ignored or invisible. Loneliness is said to be as harmful to our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. To combat this, many care homes are bringing animals in for sessions to help stimulate conversation between residents. One Reading care home has veered away from the usual dog and cat offering and brought alpacas in as part of their therapy and enriching activities.

Calming Presence

Often in life, whatever you’re doing, you need to just take a step back and relax. Certain educational establishments have noticed this and have started bringing dogs in around exam season. Newcastle College’s Ofsted report praised the student support facility by recognising methods to optimise the learning environment.

Researchers suggest that those students who play with dogs enjoy increased happiness levels, while their level of stress plunges, sometimes for up to 10 hours! The idea behind the concept is that students are allowed to pet, cuddle and chat to the animals. Researchers discovered that this activity enabled students’ stress levels to drop by 45%, meaning that, they were more relaxed during the stress of exam season.

Autism

People with autism frequently struggle with sensory issues. Animals such as dogs and horses can help those with autism get used to how something smells, sounds or feels. It’s believed that children who have autism find working with animals a calming experience and it can help increase their desire and ability to connect with others in a social environment.

Pets And Children With ADHD

It isn’t just adults that whose mental state of mind can be helped by animals. Studies have found that children with ADHD can also benefit from having a pet. This is due to them taking on the duties to look after the animal and thus learning how to plan and be responsible.

Like how owning a pet can assist in fighting depression, the physical exercise aspect needed for most pets can enable your child to burn off excessive energy, allowing them to become calmer as the day progresses. Sometimes, kids with ADHD struggle to communicate and animals can be great listeners, helping children air their issues while aiding their self-confidence.

Obviously, not everyone loves animals but the stats clearly show that animals can certainly be a human’s best friend in more ways than one!

Starting Puppy Off On The Right Paw: Picking The Best Food

best puppy dog food top nutrition for puppies

It’s puppy season and a lot of people are bringing home a new puppy to be part of their family. There’s a lot involved in being a new pet parent and one of the most important decisions you’re going to make is picking what food is right for your new furry family member.

Walking down the dog food aisle at your local pet supply store can be an overwhelming experience. You definitely want to pick a brand you can trust, with quality ingredients, and complete and balanced nutrition so your puppy can grow up to be happy and healthy.

Many puppy drinks and foods are going to be higher in protein and enriched with vitamins, minerals and fats to speak to the higher calorie needs of an active, growing puppy, but keep an eye out; if you notice that your puppy is gaining too much weight you may need to adjust the portion size. Obesity is one of the biggest health concerns to our pets, so it’s important to keep your puppy at a healthy weight from the start. You’ll want to pay attention to how your puppy reacts to their food as well: if you notice that your puppy has an upset stomach or other symptoms that might indicate a sensitive tummy or food allergies, you’ll need to talk to your vet to address those issues as soon as possible.

Symptoms that your puppies may be allergic to his or her food may include:

- Ear infections
- Hair loss
- Excessive scratching
- Dry flaky skin
- Hot Spots
- Unable to sleep through the night
- Fidgeting and restlessness at night
- More than one to two bowel movements a day
- Diarrhea

There are a lot of people who may not want to start their puppy off on a puppy-specific formula for various reasons and that’s okay too. You might have another adult or senior dog at home and who wants to have to buy different kinds of food for different dogs who may be in different life stages? Changing from puppy food, to adult dog food later in life can be a complicated process that many dog owners are looking to avoid altogether. Whatever your reasons may be, many modern dog food companies offer all-life-stages formulas so that your puppy can eat the same food from the moment you bring him home, until he is an adult and even into his senior years.

Companies like Natural Balance have created many complete and balanced formulas like their latest innovation Natural Balance® Wild Pursuit™ which is designed specifically to meet the needs of all your dog’s life stages. Wild Pursuit™ is designed for both puppies and adult dogs alike. It’s a high-protein, grain-free food with a balanced blend of three animal-based protein sources. Products like this meet the needs of growing puppies and can be fed throughout animal adulthood (as long as the feeding quantity is adjusted for your dog’s age and activity level) so you never have to switch formulas and can avoid the complications and hassle that can come when changing any dog’s food.

Whatever you decide to feed your pup, you’re going to want to make sure to pick a high-quality, easily digestible, dog food whose main ingredient is an animal based protein source. Check the dog food label for quality ingredients (like animal based proteins, garbanzo beans, peas, blueberries, etc.) and to make sure you are using the right feeding portion. Be on the alert for upset stomach or symptoms of possible food allergies. With the watchful eye of a loving human and the right dog food, your pup will grow up healthy and live for many happy years!

11 Benefits of Dog CBD Oil

benefits of dog cbd oil pet cannabidiol for dogs

Is your dog dealing with anxiety? Does your dog have chronic pain or gastrointestinal issues? What about other issues that you aren't so sure how to handle with your canine pet?

If so, you may feel like you don't have many options to help. We love our furry friends and want to take care of them, but what can you do when you have exhausted all traditional efforts?

Trying hemp oil for dogs is a great option to help your pup feel better. Not only is it a natural alternative, but it has been proven to be effective for a variety of ailments.

Check out more information about CBD oil in general and what has been found in the research supporting its use in humans and dogs below.

What is CBD Oil?

A lot of people want to know if CBD oil is safe and how it works before they are willing to try it.

Cannabis oil comes from the marijuana plant. The oil is extracted using a variety of methods, such as CO2 extraction.

The marijuana plant has 80 different cannabinoids and they are not all the same. For instance, THC and CBD both come from the plant, but they have different effects when used in the body.

CBD does not have the psychoactive components that THC has. THC is the element that makes you feel high. Take the THC out and you avoid the high but retain the positive health benefits of CBD.

11 Reasons to Use Dog CBD Oil

With its recent rise in popularity, a lot of pet owners are giving this product a try to see how it can help. The CBD benefits you experience could be greater than you think.

Here are some of the reasons you may want to try CBD oil with your pup.

1. Anti-Inflammatory Properties

CBD interacts with receptors found in the brain and immune system. This means that ingesting it will impact the way your body or your dog's body functions.

The anti-inflammatory effects that come with CBD oil can benefit pets that have chronic pain or are dealing with symptoms of a medical condition.

2. Appetite Stimulation

There may be times when your dog just doesn't eat. You may also find that some medical health conditions make it harder for your pet to eat or cause them to lose their appetite entirely.

If this is the case, CBD oil can help trigger an increased appetite to help your pet want and enjoy their food more.

3. Cardiac Benefits

Dogs can suffer from heart health issues just like humans. CBD may benefit your furry friend's heart in different ways, such as the prevention of heart damage.

CBD oil can also lower heart rate and blood pressure during stressful situations.

More research is needed in this area to determine just how effective CBD oil can be for these types of issues.

4. Anxiety Relief

If you have an anxious dog (as many of us do), CBD oil may be able to reduce anxiety or alleviate it altogether.

Due to the compounds found in CBD, the endocannabinoid system is able to help relax the body and mind.

5. Gastrointestinal Issues

CBD can help dogs that eat a lot, don't eat enough, or have trouble digesting their food.

It will modulate the appetite and can benefit the digestive tract at the same time. By aiding in digestion, your dog will have an easier time knowing when they are actually hungry.

6. Seizures

It has been estimated that 0.75% of the dog population experiences seizures as a result of epilepsy. CBD oil has been found to diminish the number of seizures a dog experiences.

It also helps shorten the duration of their seizures. So, if one happens it won't last as long as it may have otherwise.

7. Nausea Relief

The relief of nausea is similar to the relief of anxiety in that the CBD cannabinoids interact with the endocannabinoid system.

This interaction will influence your pup's body chemistry and help trigger the right signals to the brain to prevent and reduce symptoms of nausea.

8. Cancer Symptom Relief

Research has shown us that the properties of CBD oil can be anti-tumor. It has the ability to stop cancer cells from getting larger and increase the death of cancer cells.

The other qualities, we have already gone over, all aid in making a dog suffering from cancer more comfortable.

9. Arthritis

Due to the anti-inflammatory properties in CBD oil, it will reduce the swelling in joints and prevent arthritis from getting worse as a result. This means that a pup with arthritis can have less tough days.

10. Pain Relief

Cannabinoids that are present in CBD oil work well if your dog has chronic or acute pain.

For example, if your pup is experiencing nerve pain, CBD oil can target the area to suppress the inflammation. Even intestinal pain can be relieved with the use of CBD because it helps control the neuroimmune axis.

11. Stress

Dogs experience stress in their lives just like humans do. CBD oil produces a calming effect on both dogs and humans.

It is great to use if you are going through a big transition with your dog. For instance, moving to a new city may cause your dog to have some stress and CBD oil may ease this negative impact.

Ready to Try It?

As you can see, there has been a lot of research done on the benefits of CBD oil. It is an effective way to manage a variety of symptoms in both dogs and humans.

Buying dog CBD oil is not difficult and there are actually many places you can get it since it has become much more popular.

Be sure to choose high-quality options with fewer additives or adulterants to ensure your pup's health and safety is intact.

All About Cannabidiol: CBD Oil For Humans And Pets

What To Know About Cannabidiol For Humans And Pets cbd oil

Intro To Cannabis And Cannabinoids

The use of marijuana for medical needs has been a matter of debate. Nevertheless, you can get medical marijuana in many states of the US. Marijuana contains more than 60 compounds that can be potentially used for many medical purposes, and one of them is CBD or cannabidiol. In this post, we will talk about the benefits of CBD oil, but before that, let’s understand CBD better. What’s CBD? For a very long time, it was known that THC or tetrahydrocannabinol is the most potent compound in cannabis, mainly because it produces effects that could influence the brain. Today, many types of research and studies have proven that CBD is one of the primary and most efficient non-psychoactive compounds in Cannabis sativa.

The Rise Of CBD Oil

The benefits of CBD for medical purposes have been examined in detail in some studies. To be more precise, you get the medical advantages of the compound for certain medical conditions without the feeling of being “stoned.” Benefits at a glance CBD might help in managing anxiety, according to some researchers. It can work on the receptors in the brain and influence the way in which these receptors respond to a chemical called serotonin. CBD can emerge as a potential way of treating seizures and can be of immense benefit for epileptic patients. Current research is still in an early stage, but The American Epilepsy Society has expressed hope for future treatments.

According to missmollysays, the use of CBD oil is being studied for a number of neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. Researchers are trying to find more about the effects of CBD for such conditions. If you are looking for organic pain relief, CBD lotions and cream can be useful. Cannabis is known to offer some benefits for cancer patients, as far pain management is concerned. CBD is also known to be a great solution for pain related to chronic conditions like arthritis and spinal cord injuries. CBD might also be a good solution for acne-prone skin. According to some studies, it has the potential of influencing the sebaceous glands, which hydrate the skin, but too much of the same can also lead to acne. Cannabis has been used for suppressing nausea for centuries. The antiemetic effects of CBD have been studied on animals with positive results.

Cannabidiol Can Do It All

Taken in small doses, it can help in suppressing toxin-induced vomiting. However, if taken in extremely high doses, it has no effects. Buying CBD products CBD has been named in the list of Schedule 1 drugs, which means that it has a high potential for possible abuse and cannot be used for medical needs, at least at the federal level. Some products that are low in THC and high in CBD have been approved by 17 states. You can check online to know more about the specific requirements that must be met for using these products legally without any consequences. Also, make sure that the products you buy are genuine and are sold by a trusted seller. The effectiveness of such products largely depends on the quality.

Pet Potential

The pet-owner relationship has been there for quite some time now. Many people are keeping pets in their houses. These are creatures that are less dangerous and cannot subject you to any kind of harm. They are also playful and can help you stay free from stress. You should treat your pet just like your own child. Make sure you treat it and provide it with shelter and proper healthcare. You can present some treatments to it that will help ensure it is in the right state of health always. CBD oil is an excellent treatment you can offer your pet. It is a product derived from cannabis and is known to provide the best remedies to both humans and animals. One of the commonly kept pets is a dog. You can also give them CBD because of the treatments they offer.

Benefits Of Giving CBD To My Dog

There are several reasons why I use CBD for my dog. They include:

Pain Treatment

It is a common thing for any dog to get injured. This is because of how playful they are, and they love jumping up and down. Pain can render a dog inactive and also affect its mood. Moving in very fast to sort out the situation will help restore its normal being. CBD for Dogs offers immediate treatment to the kind of pain it is experiencing.

Anxiety Treatment

Dogs tend to suffer from anxiety like humans. One anxiety disorder they face is separation anxiety. This usually comes about when they are separated from the owner. You might travel for some while leaving your dog behind. Getting used to being alone might be difficult for your dog, and this is one thing that can bring about anxiety. You can offer your dog CBD when you find it in such a state. With time, they will get back to their normal being.

Treating Digestive Conditions

Dogs also experience some digestive disorders which might come about as a result of a poor diet or some body conditions. You will notice signs like lack of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, or flatulence in them. CBD for Dogs is one of the best treatments for these disorders. Your dog will recover within a short period after administering CBD.

Treating Depression

This is another condition that might affect your pet. Depression may render them inactive and can bring about some discomfort. You should be able to read signs of depression in your pet. Some of the things you will notice include self-isolation, a change in eating habits, and inactivity. Giving them CBD will help treat the condition they are going through very fast.

Seizure Treatment

Seizure is a common condition in most dogs and it can come about due to several reasons. One of them is when toxins accumulate in their body. Other causes include diseases like liver condition, brain tumor, and kidney failure in dogs. Giving your canine some CBD oil serving will help in improving its health. You will witness significant improvements after administering these products to them.

CBD Conclusion

You should give them the correct servings if you want to see some improvement. Identify what is right for your dog can be quite difficult. Use the CBD dosage chart which will guide you on the correct serving for your breed. Some veterinarians who are familiar with CBD oil and its servings can guide you on the right amount to give your canine. Let the vendors explain to you the ideal strength of cannabidiol for your breed and the amount you should serve them. This will help ensure your canine is in a good state always.

Why Pets Can Improve Your Lifestyle And Health

pets power improve lifestyle health workouts dog fitness

Pets can be more than just loyal companions — they can also improve many aspects of your lifestyle and wellness. Award-winning stair lifts provider Acorn Stairlifts has aimed to explore this idea in more detail in this article, where they analyze how certain animals in your home can improve both your physical and mental health, your social skills and your body’s ability to fight off the development of allergies and other immune system issues.

Ways That Pets Improve Physical Health

Numerous pieces of research have been published which suggest that you will improve your lifestyle and health if you have a pet within your household.

One recent study reported on by the Mother Nature Network said that having a dog could lower the risk of death from cardiovascular disease or other causes. This particular piece of research followed 3.4 million individuals in Sweden — men and women aged between 40 and 80 years old — and examined their health records for around 12 years, as well as whether they owned a dog. Once all the research was compiled, it was found that individuals who lived by themselves but had a dog were able to reduce their risk to death in general by 33 percent, as well as their risk of death due to a cardiovascular-related issue by 36 percent, when compared to those who lived alone and without a pet.

Having a dog can give your fitness levels a boost too. A study led by Rebecca A. Johnson, Ph.D., director of the Research Center for Human-Animal Interaction at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, for instance, came to the conclusion that dog walkers improved their fitness more than those who opted to walk with other people instead. Furthermore, a separate piece of research which was published in the Journal of Physical Activity & Health suggested that dog owners were 54 percent more likely to meet the recommended levels of physical activity than those who didn’t have a dog in their lives.

Even caring for fish can provide diabetic teens with a helping hand for better managing their disease.

How Pets Can Improve Mental Health

It’s not just your physical health that can receive a boost by having a pet in your life though, as Gary A. Christenson, MD, chief medical officer at Boynton Health Service at the University of Minnesota, was keen to point out: "Pets often provide and love and they're always there for you. There is a bond and companionship that makes a big difference in mental health." Office dogs have even shown to improve workplace productivity and employee retention!

Why Pets Protect Your Body Against Allergies

How Pets Can Improve Your Social Skills

As well as improving your health, having a pet can also enhance your social skills significantly.

Take this study carried out by researchers from the University of Western Australia, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and the WALTHAM Centre for Pet Nutrition for instance. After almost 2,700 men and women were surveyed in Perth, Australia; San Diego, California; Portland, Oregon; and Nashville, Tennessee, it was established that being a pet owner was the third most common way that people said that they were introduced to others in their neighborhoods. In fact, pet owners were found to be 60 percent more likely to get to know others around their neighborhoods who they hadn’t previously known than those without pets.

Writing in PLoS One alongside her colleagues, Dr. Lisa Wood, an associate professor at the University of Western Australia, stated: “Pet ownership appears to be a significant factor for facilitating social interaction and friendship formation within neighborhoods. For pet owners, this also translates into new sources of social support, both of a practical and emotionally supportive nature.”

Then there’s a study which has been published in the Journal of Applied Developmental Science, which acknowledged that young adults who had a deep bond to their pets also felt more connected in both their relationships and their communities when compared to non-pet owners. Furthermore, these young adults were found to be more likely to take on leadership roles, were usually more confident and more emphatic as well.

Conclusion

As we’ve showcased throughout this article, there is so much that we need to thank our pets for! Get a pet to improve your health if you don't have one already, or make sure you are caring for your existing ones as much as possible! To make sure you are providing the best possible care for your pet, it would be a good idea to research new pet insurance companies that offer great services - like Bivvy pet insurance.
