Fresh Fruit Smoothie Recipe

By Helen Chin Lui of The Healing Place in Medfield, MA

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 2 or more

One thing I love about his recipe that you can add any fresh or frugal fruit that you have on hand. The one I made today is:

In a blender add:

1 banana (any size)
2 large strawberries
a few slices of mango
1/2 cup orange juice or water
1/2 cup filtered water
1/2 fiber powder scoop
1/2 Scoop Vega protein powder

Options: add a handful blueberries, sliced apples, pears, cantaloupe, grapes, watermelon, blackberries…..whatever you like best in this recipe!

*Frugal Fitness Note: Also feel free to add vanilla or unflavored soy, casein, or whey protein powder to make it even better pre-workout, post-workout, or for breakfast. Also feel free to add ground flaxseeds for a big Omega-3 Fatty Acid and fiber boost!

Frugal Note: Fresh fruit is best but frozen fruit is much cheaper and lasts longer!
