Today I am going to show you how to make one of my favorite deserts called Clafoutis. Clafoutis is basically a French cake that has a custard like texture and is mixed with fruits. This is a super simple recipe that you will be making over and over again.

List of ingredients
4 eggs
100 grams of sugar
15 ml of vanilla extract
50 ml of melted butter
250 grams of flour
300 grams of almond powder
400 ml of milk
500 grams of figs

The first step is to mix the eggs with the sugar so break the eggs and put them in a large bowl, add the sugar and beat them for one minute.

After one minute add the vanilla extract, mix it in, then add the melted butter, mix it and add the flour and finally add the almond powder.

Almond powder is my secret ingredient in this recipe because it makes the Clafoutis very soft. If you do not have almond powder just add flour instead.

Using a spatula just mix in all the ingredients really well, once the flour is mixed in we are going to add the milk and the mixture should be really smooth. For the figs I am just going to quarter slice them, it is nothing fancy, you don’t need to have good knife skills to do this.

It is important to add a pinch of salt to your mixture because a little bit of salt really brings up the sweetness of the cakes so this is quite important.

For cooking the Clafoutis I will use some nice clay plates because I think that it looks more earthy and beautiful and it gives you a nice individual portion, you can also use a cake pan.

Make sure to use a little bit of butter on the bottom of the plates before you pour in the Clafoutis and before you pour in the dough place a couple of pieces of fig into the plates and gently pour some of the mixture around and on top of the figs.

I am also going to add some sliced almonds because this will give it crunchiness which is perfect because the cake is soft and the top would be crunchy. Finally, sprinkle a little bit of sugar if you want to have a crispy crust and now it is time to place them in the oven.

Of course that you need to preheat your oven to about 400 Fahrenheit degrees and all we have to do right now is to place them in the oven and leave them for about 30 minutes.
