One of my favorite ways to workout is when I'm outside. I get fresh air, good scenery, and it gets me motivated to finish my exercise routine! Plus, it's free and I don't need to pay a hefty gym membership. 

However, you'll need to purchase your own workout equipment and gear to exercise successfully and comfortably. With that being said, it can get quite confusing as to what you should prioritize getting, especially during the hot summer! 

1. Weighted Jump Rope 

One of the best ways to start your cardio is through a jump rope! To work on your entire body, including arms, I recommend that you get a jump rope with weighted handles so you can get the most of this workout. What's great is that it can burn a ton of calories and jumping rope is an easy, fun exercise that you wouldn't even feel like you're working out at all! Plus, it's portable and easy to bring when you plan on working out anywhere, may it be at home, your yard, or the park! 

2. Sunblock And A Cap 

Since it's summer, expect the heat to come without pity! It'll be so hot and you'll sometimes be under direct sunlight, so you've got to protect yourself. Not only is it important to wear a cap to block your face, but wearing sunscreen to protect your body will do you a lot good. After all, sunburn doesn't only happen on the beach, but when you spend a ton of time outside as well. 

3. Sports Jug 

Again, you'll be exposed to the sun and will sweat a lot from exercising, which is why you need to replenish your thirst and stay hydrated to avoid a heat stroke. Get a big and lightweight water jug that can hold enough for you to drink throughout your workout. I recommend that you get something made of quality materials that can withstand heat while keeping your liquids cold so you stay refreshed! 

4. Good Workout Clothes 

You absolutely CAN'T work in your typical cotton top and jeans! The best summer workout clothes are the ones that wick away sweat and absorb it well while staying breathable while you exercise. A good top and leggings will work very well, it doesn't need to be too fancy! For girls, remember to invest in a quality sports bra to keep those twins from bouncing. Also, get the appropriate workout shoes, may it be for running or training. 

5. Resistance Band 

Just like a jump rope, resistance bands are a portable piece of workout equipment that can do you a lot in terms of strength exercises. They allow you to go beyond bodyweight exercises and have you reach over your limits with a ton of exercises you can do with it, making it worth the price if you plan to workout without the expensive gym equipment! A portable suspension training system is also a great investment. 

6. A Strong Workout Mat 

Whether you're doing yoga, body weight exercises, or simply stretching, a workout mat is an absolute essential! They can be used and brought just about anywhere! 

After all, you wouldn't want to be lying down on the wet or dirty ground, which is why you need a mat that will keep you comfortable with enough softness to keep your back supported. Make sure that you get one made of quality materials to use it for a long time. 

7. Belt Or Armband For Your Accessories 

Last but not the least, pack on the accessories like sports headphones to listen to good music while running, as well as a band to place around your arms or waist to hold your phone, keys and other small essentials while you workout. That way, you won't have to hold anything and can focus on your workout rather than what you're carrying!
