How The Sports Industry Changed Over Time

sports changed over time future of sporting events athletic technology athlete trends

Over the years, sport has seen many changes, but what changes and improvements can we expect to see in the future? Classic trainer brand Gola investigates how sports have changed over the years and decades.

From football to hockey, basketball to volleyball, gymnastics to cricket, the world of sport is a part of so many people’s lives as participants and fans. Sports have been ingrained in our DNA since ancient times. Naturally then, this wide-reaching athletic industry is frequently changing and evolving to improve not only player performance, but fan enjoyment too.

What Does This Mean For The Players?

Not only will our sports stars be enjoying the benefits of the latest in technological advancements for their chosen field, they will be feeling the pressure of an ever-more regulated and finely-scrutinised game. Plus, athletes may well be standing alongside a different type of sports player…

How Have Their Outfits Changed?

In the very near future, athletes will have greater access to smart-clothing — and no, we don’t mean playing football in tuxedos. These items of clothing will have integrated sensors designed to read biometrics as you go about your activities. Not only will this track information such as heartrate and temperature, but in the next few decades, one smart-clothing CEO claims we could use the technology to pinpoint why a person has developed illnesses such as cancer, be it genetic, environmental or diet.

From moisture-wicking clothing to wearable monitors tracking distance, speed, heart rate and more, we’re far from the days of just hitting the track with a pair of trainers, shorts and a vest! Things have certainly changed drastically from the days of golfers playing in full suits!

Closer Scrutiny In The Sports Industry Today

During the FIFA World Cup, video assistant referee technology was introduced for the first time at World Cup level.

This technology allowed referees to replay video footage of an event in order to support their decision-making. Not only that, but VAR can be used to award or rescind penalties depending on the original decision.

Genetics

It sounds like a sci-fi movie premise, but genetically-edited athletes may not be so far away either. According to one report, part of the increased data-collection capabilities in sport means that gene- based data collection could also be possible soon. This data could show what, if any, genetics make for a top-tier player. This can then be used in gene-editing to help produce faster and stronger athletes — though this has been noted by the World Anti-Doping Agency as a banned substance.

eSports / Fantasy Sports

What was once dismissed as little more than ‘trying too hard’ at a video game has now blossomed into a sport in its own right. eSports have rapidly grown over the years, with revenue in this area erupting from $130 million in 2012 to $865 million in 2025.

Its viewership is even starting to rival real-life sports, with the 2024 World Championship for League of Legends drawing 43 million viewers compared to 44.5 million viewers for game 7 of the NBA finals, according to one report.

Those in the know will tell you that, just like with playing football as a hobby compared to playing on a professional level, there’s a huge leap between playing a video game for fun and playing professionally. A lot of it boils down to what gamers call ‘game sense’, which covers what is essentially spatial and situational awareness within the virtual battleground.

It is this trait that many think will push eSports players to begin to be treated like athletes in a way, by proving speed and decision-making under pressure.

What Does This Mean For The Fans?

As technological advances increase, fans have been increasingly able to simulate this feeling of direct and indirect participation without having to buy tickets to physically attend the match.

Present: Social Media

Social media is effectively the digital stadium whenever a big game is on! You might not have known a particularly noteworthy boxing match was on, for example, until logging in to your social media accounts and seeing the hashtag everywhere.

In terms of sports, the social media go-to is often Twitter. Though the social media channel is often cited as being in a state of fluctuation, it has certainly found its footing in the sporting world. In 2024, 80% of Millennials checked Twitter, but this fell dramatically by 2025 with only 37% checking Twitter trends.

From 2025, the number of daily users began to increase again, rising by 9%. Visitor counts increase in particular during sports events, as seen during the Super Bowl, with an increase of 19% in terms of unique visitors.

Event engagement increased 31% with Twitter and recollection of the event in question increased 35%. With its rapid updating, easy-to-track hashtags for events and by-the-second commentary, Twitter is the ideal platform for fans around the world to gather and comment on the sport event at hand in real time.

Future: VR And AR Sports

Other than attending a sports game, such technology such as Augmented Reality (AR) would be the closest way a fan can get to experiencing the stadium sensation.

There is still a way to go before these types of virtual reality and augmented reality technology will be readily available and accessible, especially when considering the current capabilities of the technology. The sense of being really in attendance only happens when the action is close to the camera, such as with boxing. For other sports, any action that takes place further away from the cameras becomes 2D and quickly nullifies the sense of immersion.

Present: All About The Shirts and Kits

Another element that creates a sense of fan involvement comes from the sporting kit. As CNN points out, these shirt designs have the potential to symbolize iconic moments in history, so they’re naturally a popular way for fans to be a part of that if they are wearing that shirt too.

We saw this desire to own a physical representation of an iconic moment in practice at last year’s World Cup, with French fans clamoring to own the latest Nike shirt bearing two stars, representing the country’s two World Cup wins.

Future: All About The Footwear

Could we see a shift in the importance of sporting shirts in the future? Multiple studies have shown how Generation Z, the consumer of tomorrow, places emphasis on footwear when it comes to the coolest part of clothes and fashion. For them, it’s less about the newly released shirts and more about the year’s best cleats!

This could be down to a lesser sense of team loyalty, with more of Generation Z following individual sports stars regardless of their team switches. Following the stars rather than the teams also means that Generation Z tends to prefer fantasy sport games to betting on real games, as the former allows them to put together a team of all their favorite players.

The Future Of Sports Is Up In The Air

The future of sport is certainly shaping up to be incredibly exciting and far more varied than ever before. But it is always uncertain and evolving, especially after the Coronavirus pandemic. Interview With World Champion Boxer Jose Rivera

The People's Champion Jose Rivera!

Hey Frugal Fat Fighters! It is the Rocky Balboa of Cheapness here to talk to you about an amazing world-champion pro athlete, an amazing company with a business opportunity that might be right for you, and a great gym in Worcester, MA! Now that is a lot of fantastic frugal fitness, you might need to take a break from your one-armed pushups for this one, so let's break this down into ROUNDS. Ding ding! Let's have a clean fight!

Ouch! Glad I'm not getting hit by Jose & the only punches I take are to my ego!

ROUND 1: Jose Rivera, 3x World Boxing Champion

I got an incredible opportunity to meet and interview with former 3x World Champion Boxer Jose Rivera, who is now retired from the boxing ring but still very active in the boxing, fitness, and athletic community.

He is currently a highly sought after personal trainer, boxing coach, and leader of USANA Health Sciences Team Rivera (he is also the on their Athletic Advisory Council with other world-class athletes). And that's on top of his full time job, and I thought I worked a lot! This guy is a beast (my arms were feeling puny sitting next to him!), he has been through it all in athletics, and he is very smart and diligently does his research on all things training and nutrition. He leads USANA's Team Rivera which distributes the highest quality nutritional supplement products on the planet, and you can join his elite team! Make money while helping others get healthier? Sounds like a good deal to me! And of course while I was there, I had to show him a few things in the ring (ok I made that last part up haha).

Me pretending to be a champion in areas other than frugality!

ROUND 2: USANA Health Sciences
USANA Health Sciences strives to be the highest quality nutritional supplement company on the planet! Their creto and all of their products emphasize health at the cellular level, superior research, and the highest standards of quality to translate into improved health, performance, and quality of life for all those taking their products. The amoUnt of scientists and researchers in this company is staggering, and that translates into extremely powerful and proven products. Jose Rivera looked to these products and the company's nutritional expertise to help maximize his illustrious career, and now he's helping others benefit from the same opportunity. Jose met with all of the doctors, researchers, and even visited the world-class manufacturing facility to make sure that this was the best company and the best product line to team up with. They make premium and highly effective multivitamins, multiminerals, antioxidant formulas, heart healthy fat blends, muscle-repairing protein mixes, and much more (all safe for athletic competitions! no banned substances!) that you can see at Usana health sciences MLM.

ROUND 3: Camp Get Right Worcester, MA
Camp Get Right in Worcester, MA is one of my favorite types of gyms that is all about results, and none of the BS you find at most upscale hoity-toity gyms (not frugal, not cool). This is the kind of place where champions are made, and not the place where you sip on a smoothie while on your cell phone on an elliptical with resistance 1 during interviews. This gym has everything you could want for real results from boxing rings, to MMA rings, to functional training (monster truck tires, sledge hammers), speed bags, heavy bags, kettlebells, medicine balls, jump ropes, dumbbells, ropes and none of that Nautilus Equipment beta male equipment or unnecessary rows of fancy cardio equipment. While you don't have to be a badass to enjoy a great workout here, you will certainly be a badass by the time you leave and you will understand how to train harder and smarter with the most effective and necessary equipment. Men & Women of all ages, goals, and fitness levels welcome!

All of these strong women could kick my butt easily!

Join USANA Team Rivera Today!

And if you are in the Worcester, MA area...or even remotely close by, besides hitting up Camp Get Right, on a very personal note, I would highly recommend you look into hiring Jose as your personal trainer. Whether you are training for boxing, another sport, or just trying to get in better shape, this guy is an incredible resource you should utilize. I can't imagine how much I would have benefited, in athletics and in my fitness career, to work with a skilled trainer/coach when I was a teenager, instead of teaching myself and making so many mistakes along the way... much less a world champion! Make the investment.

Thanks Jose for your time, expertise, and not knocking me out!

8 Reasons To Invest In Quality Sporting Equipment

reasons invest top quality sporting equipment fitness gear

Getting involved in sports is a big commitment. Not only are you sacrificing early mornings, late nights, weekends, and sometimes holidays to be part of the team, but the costs surrounding these activities can really add up. Regardless, you love playing – that is what makes it all worth it in the end. The gear you use should reflect your dedication to your sport too.

Sure, you can easily come up with ways to play without top-of-the-line equipment. Throw down two jackets some distance apart, and you have goal posts, or draw a chalk line on the pavement to symbolize a volleyball or badminton net. It is just as easy to run out to a big box store and hastily grab the first piece of equipment you see, but that is not wise. If you are serious about your sport, taking the time to research the gear you need will go a long way in helping you play and increasing the enjoyment you have while playing. If you are diligent, you might even be able to find quality equipment or clothing at a discount!

Finding the right gear for you and your needs might seem like a daunting task with so many choices out there. A good tip is to avoid the cheapest equipment, which will start to narrow down your options right away. Here are eight reasons why you should be investing in quality sports equipment.

It Performs Better

Your equipment should function as intended without you worrying about its performance. The last thing you want is to be in the middle of a match or game, and your gear breaks on you or causes you to play poorly. Not to mention quality and function are an important factor in your enjoyment of the sport. It can be incredibly frustrating knowing you aren’t performing at your best because of your faulty gear. No, you can’t always blame the equipment, but sometimes you can! Look for the best performing-enhancing products for your sport that will get you to the level you want to be.

Investing In A Future In Sports

If you want to take your level of involvement in your sport to the next level and pursue it professionally or as a serious hobby, you need to make sure that your equipment is going to help you perform to the best of your abilities, even if it means making a larger investment upfront. There are plenty of ways to help finance this venture, including finding a side hustle or saving long-term. If you don’t want to wait or don’t have the time, getting help from a finance company is also an option.

Safety Is Important

The last thing you want is your equipment failing to protect you when you need it most. High- quality equipment comes with safety certifications that meet and pass rigorous inspections and tests. They are designed to protect you under the worst possible conditions in mind, not just in the moment but also long-term. Cheaper products and knockoffs don’t always have the safety certifications you want or trust, and over time can become unreliable. Your health is important, so don’t skimp when it comes to keeping yourself safe. You want to make sure you can play your sport for as long as possible without preventable injuries slowing you down.

Buy From Specialty Shops

There are many perks to buying from a specialty shop over a big box store. The selection is almost always greater than the choices at big box stores, where you might not even find high- quality products at all. Your neighborhood sports shop will most likely have a range of products so you can decide whether you want to fully go top-of-the-line or work your way up as your skills grow. Plus, the people who work in these shops are usually experts or athletes themselves, so they are quite knowledgeable on the subject. You can get advice or ask questions that will help you find the right equipment for your needs.

Save money overall

Sports equipment costs can seriously add up over time, so wanting to save a few bucks where you can is reasonable. You might think opting for the cheaper product is more cost-effective, and that spending a small fortune upfront to save money is counterintuitive, but over the long run, you will be happier you did. Cheaper products are generally lower quality, and lower quality products don’t last nearly as long as high-end ones do. You will end up needing to replace your gear much more often, and over time this can get costly. Bite the bullet up front, and your wallet will thank you later.

Keep Up With The Pros

If you are trying to make your mark in your sport seriously, you can’t let your equipment drag you down. From your head to your toe, what you wear when you play makes a difference, whether it is actual gear or the clothing on your back. The top athletes know this and work it to their advantage, so if you want to get where they are, as they say, do as the Romans do. Do a bit of Googling to see which brands your favorite athletes are wearing, but be mindful of which athletes are sponsored by which companies too.

Avoid Gimmicky Products

Some products out there make outlandish promises to get your attention to rely on these tactics, so you will buy them. Avoid getting deceived by these promises. Quality equipment will live up to its expectations and will usually have some sort of product guarantee for extra reassurance. Read the instructions or information that come with your gear to be sure you know what to expect from it performance-wise.

Bonus Perks

High-quality equipment, especially from a manufacturer or specialty store, comes with perks like extended warranties to help you maximize the life cycle of your gear. If you have gear that requires upkeep that is as complicated as a bike or as simple as cleats, the manufacturer will usually offer discounted or even free maintenance on regular wear and tear. Sometimes these stores also offer loyalty programs, so the more you shop, the more you get rewarded. Plus, if parts need replacing, you know exactly where to get them.

Tips To Prevent Sports Injuries

how to prevent sports injuries treat athletic injury

Popular sports in Westfield include basketball, soccer, and tennis. Even though they are great sporting options to pass time and stay healthy, there is a real risk of injury. Even though most injuries happen while playing sports, they may also happen when training. Fortunately, Westfield sports injuries do not need to keep you from enjoying your favorite sport. The following are a few tips to prevent injuries:

1. Safety Equipment

Even though using the appropriate safety equipment and clothing does not guarantee that you cannot be injured, it lowers the chances. Wear safety equipment to protect your chest, knees, shoulders, and shin. You may need faceguards, helmets, pads, or eyewear. Pay attention to the existing rules and regulations. They are set in place to minimize the risk of injury.

2. Rest

You do not need to train or play every day of the week. Take at least one day off to relax and heal your muscles. Athletes should rest for at least one month in the year. Resting after a period of playing or training makes it possible for your body to recover.

3. Stretch And Warm-Up

Set some time off to stretch before exercising. Consider jogging or doing a light activity for a minimum of ten minutes before you get into your regular training. Do not start playing before stretching your muscles. Stretching relieves muscle tension. It warns you and promotes flexibility.

4. Hydrate

Dehydration is a common effect of engaging in sports. Drink water before and after exercise to reduce your risk of dehydration. Take water breaks after every 15-20 minutes of activity. The hydration you need depends on your level of activity.

5. Set Realistic Goals

While it is important to push yourself during exercise, ensure that your goals are safe and attainable. Pushing yourself too hard may trigger injuries. Whether you hope to swim more laps, lift heavier weights, or run a specified distance, you should work gradually to achieve it.

6. Take Your Time

Patience is the key to avoiding sports injuries. Do not push yourself too hard too fast. Learning a new sport and excelling at it takes time. Allow enough time to increase your training levels. When your body has time to adjust, you are unlikely to get injured.

7. Do Not Push Through The Pain

Listening to your body may help you minimize injuries. If your body is showing any signs of stress, you need to adjust your level of activity. Even though minor and short-lived pain are good, you may need to seek help or cut back if it persists for long. Joint pain is always a sign of trouble.

Conclusion

In conclusion, sports injuries may be a result of trauma or overuse. Even though they are mostly obvious, they can be subtle and difficult to detect. If left untreated, the injuries may affect your general well-being and ability to play. Simple ways to prevent the injuries include listening to your body, setting realistic goals, drinking plenty of water, and using the appropriate safety equipment.

How To Keep Not Get Injured While Playing Sports

how to avoid sports injury

Sports Injuries Are Common

If you are going to get good at a sport, you are going to get injured. That is just how the cookie crumbles as an athlete. You are either going to twist your leg, sprain something, get the wind knocked out of you, bump your head, or any of countless injuries. It’s part of the game. Accordingly, getting injured, and recovering as quickly as possible, is part of being an athlete.

Now, for most, you’re not going to find yourself impacted with some injury or other every single time you get out on the field, or in the ring, or on the ice skating rink with your hockey pads. But you should have some sort of infrastructure available for when you do get hurt. Also, you want to enable yourself to recover quicker beforehand.

Don’t Be Too Skinny Or Rotund

You have a diminished chance of being injured in any sporting event if your body is operating at its peak capacity in terms of health. There’s a balance, though. For example, consider your body’s fat. Did you know too little fat is actually unhealthy for you? It’s true—your body’s immune system won’t have as much ability to fight off infection.

Meanwhile, too much adipose tissue and you’ll have trouble functioning regularly. You’ll become sedentary, and likewise be more prone to illness as a result. Balance is key. It’s important to exercise regularly, continuously pushing yourself to new plateaus. Also, you’ve got to eat the right foods.

Avoid anything synthetic. Avoid hormones. Avoid “foodstuffs” and GMOs. Eating right and exercising regularly builds a strong, healthy foundation which gives you greater physical “elasticity”, as it were. If you’re brittle and get hit, you break. If you’re flexible and get hit, you stretch a bit, and it’s uncomfortable, but you “bounce” right back.

Finding Injury Specialists

A good way to avoid sports injuries is simply handling your body properly. Still, there are going to be instances where despite your best planning, you get injured in a way requiring medical attention. For such situations, you’ll want to specifically seek medical professionals who specialize in injuries from athletic events, like these Lake Oswego sports injury doctors.

Additionally, it’s worthwhile to find medical practitioners who specifically specialize in fixing feet, ankles, and legs; like Seaview Ortho for foot and ankle surgery. Sometimes your injury involves broken bones, and for such situations, it is absolutely imperative that you get professional assistance from doctors who know what they’re doing.

Another thing that can help you avoid sports injury will involve regularly playing. Granted, your statistical chances of having an accident increase, just like driving more makes it more likely you’ll have a fender bender. However, the more you drive, the more you understand “wreck” situations, and the better you can maneuver around them.

Likewise, the more you play your chosen sport, the more you’ll understand how placing your feet in certain places, or moving your body a certain way, could result in an injury. Accordingly, you can avoid such situations through experience. This is a factor its hard to over-emphasize. Experience is the linkage between diet and exercise: the mind enables eating and exercising.

Getting Your Head In The Game

When your mind understands the kind of situations your sporting activities will produce, you’ll naturally be more equipped to exercise safety during scrimmages and actual contests between rival teams or opponents.

Sports are good for you. Sports are fun. Sports have a social component to the fundamental to modern society. These feats of might and skill are worth getting involved with, just be ready to contend with an injury if and when you get one. It is all part of the game, but for most injuries, you shouldn’t have to worry about losing an athletic career.

Also, one final little physical hack to put under your belt: barometric chambers expand oxygen in the bloodstream and can speed up recovery. If you are at such a professional level as to afford one, find yourself some medical office that offers time in such pressure chambers to expedite recovery.

CBD For Sports Enthusiasts With Muscle Pain

cbd for sports enthusiasts muscle pain treatment athletes

A common issue for those who train consistently is muscle soreness post-workout. It is well known when you put your muscles through intense strain; they endure microscopic tears. These create inflammation bringing muscle fatigue and soreness. It is too much for some athletes to endure to reach their gains with some giving up. Others are of the mindset, 'no pain, no gain.'

Growing attention in the fitness community is placed on the original source, the all-natural CBD oil or cannabidiol supplement. Claims have long existed surrounding CBD's pain-reducing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Because of this, people find that after exercising, the compound can help to relax the soreness. There is some debate over which application is most useful for the pain and fatigue. Some claim salve infused with the substance directly applied to the affected spot is most beneficial.

Can CBD Provide Benefits As A Supplement

It is becoming a trend among those who work out with cannabidiol, or CBD found in virtually everything imaginable, including health drinks. It has made its mark on the medical community with properties that claim to help reduce symptoms associated with certain conditions.

It seems, though, it may potentially be serviceable as a dietary supplement for the sporting world. The all-natural product claims to offer better recovery and accomplish growth as a supplement. If it has this capacity, it would be much safer than some harmful substances the sporting world uses to achieve this, including NSAIDs, SARMs, and dangerous steroids. Read how the cannabidiol assists with tension in the muscles below.

How Does CBD Help With Muscle Building?

The body produces catabolic hormones responsible for breaking down muscle tissue. The goal for many in the sporting industry is to build mass and increase tone, meaning they need to reduce these hormone levels, including cortisol. An excess of this substance is usually the culprit for seeing no results, even with regular workouts.

As you sleep and are at your most relaxed point, cortisol is at its minimum, allowing muscle's tissue to build through protein synthesis. With CBD, a person is more comfortable and better able to achieve REM sleep, putting the level of cortisol at its lowest point. In technicality, CBD plays a hand in the growth of muscles.

Legalities Of CBD In The Competitive Sporting World

The World Anti-Doping Agency has strict guidelines on what the athletes can use to assist with their regimens. Most drugs are prohibited, including THC or tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the cousin of CBD. It is a psychoactive compound responsible for the high associated with marijuana. CBD is permitted.

The primary resource for CBD is the hemp plant providing little to no level of THC. Hemp was removed from the federal drug schedules recently, causing CBD to surge in popularity. It is worth noting that athletes need to take care of the products that they choose to use and where they obtain them.

Some suppliers may provide products with low levels of THC, which would pass WADA required drug screenings. But, depending on the source of the compound, there may be higher levels of the psychoactive, causing a failed test and subsequent consequences.

The compound is legal in all 50 states due to the Farm Bill. The bill signed into law states cultivation for any use, including producing and extracting CBD, and distributing of industrial hemp is legal. Ensuring that you receive a legitimate product is your responsibility.

How Technology Has Improved Games And Sports

how technology has improved games sports athletic tech innovations

Giddy about an upcoming baseball or basketball match in your country? Just connect to the internet, buy tickets from a website, and you’re good to go. Unsure of being able to attend the match? That’s certainly not a problem! With high-definition gadgets and television sets, you can watch them live right in the comfort of your home!

Yes, this is what has become of our gaming and sports industry – advanced and convenient. Due to connectivity, this billion-dollar industry has never been so appealing to investors now more than ever.

Although technology has received a bad rap from the minority, it certainly impacts the gaming and sports industries in many ways. And mind you, most of the impact is positive.

Let’s cut to the chase and let us tell you 10 different ways of how technology has improved games and sports today.

1. Enhanced Viewing

When you’re watching a soccer game from the farthest bleachers, you can’t see what’s going on in the field. Now, high-definition screens can make your viewing experience pleasant. Even though you can’t see the players from where you’re sitting, you can still get equally good quality from screens and monitors on the field.

2. Opens Up Investments

Sports betting is all the rage online right now. You can now bet on your favorite sports quickly without breaking a sweat. Some websites can now give you all-inclusive information to provide you with better chances of winning. The site mt police is one of the biggest sports broadcasting company in south korea, they offer NBA, MLB, EPL and more.... for free. Even bookmakers can now calculate the odds by analyzing statistics made accessible online. Even bookmakers can now calculate the odds by analyzing statistics made accessible online.

3. Makes For Better Playing Conditions

Due to avant-garde equipment for keeping fields and carpets topnotch before a match, athletes play on improved conditions. Heck, even the weather can be controlled through cloud seeding. This is beneficial for sports played outdoors and in open fields.

4. More Transparency

The information superhighway has drastically contributed to the sports and gaming industry today. Because all the team and player’s statistics and information are updated online, there is more transparency when it comes to big leagues and major sports events.

5. More Accessible Information

Cloud computing is one of the top technological advancements in today’s day and age. It’s when people gain access to a software or application from a remote server without having to install hardware equipment. That said, information about the different sports, games, organizations, players, and whatnot are displayed online for all the world to see.

This advancement can help people understand this industry better. In fact, people from various countries can even collaborate using cloud-based services. Plus, all types of information are updated in real-time!

6. Everything Is High Definition

In sports and gaming, getting a VIP viewing experience was challenging in the past. Not a lot of people have the luxury of time to watch football or basketball matches. But technology has made way for people to still enjoy their favorite pastime right in the comfort of their homes. Through pay-per-views, 80-inch television sets, high definition, and surround audio sound systems, watching the game from home will be like watching it live from the arena.

7. Enables Numerous Replays

Cheating and discrepancies are still inevitable in the gaming and sports industry. However, because of technology, experts, coaches, and athletes can now watch the game’s replays anytime they want. Not only does this allow for better game reviews, but this is also perfect for coaches and athletes to learn from their mistakes as caught on camera.

8. Multiplayer Connectivity

Gamers have multiplied tremendously in the last couple of years. And one reason is because of connectivity. A gamer from Southeast Asia can now play neck and neck with another gamer from Europe. This multiplayer connectivity expands the gaming community even with miles and miles of land and water boundaries.

9. Allows Quick Ticket Purchases

Gone are the days wherein you have to wait in queue for a game event ticket. Today, all you have to do is go to a website, pay online, and you have got yourself an e-ticket. Quick and simple!

10. Monitors Athlete Health Instantly

Although these AI health devices should never replace the more pervasive health monitoring equipment, they give athletes instant information about minor information. Factors like heart rates, blood pressure, or even sleeping patterns can now be monitored from a watch – which promotes better and safer matches.

Dunlop MX71 Tire Review

dunlop mx71 tire review dirtbike tires rating

Even the most casual dirt bike riders wind up hearing the buzz around new tire designs when they are picked up by a top competitor. While it is true that the right equipment doesn’t always make for victory, it is equally true that unless a rider is savvy enough to find the perfect fit for their riding style when they pick out tires and other upgrades, they aren’t going to be able to coax the full performance out of a bike.

Fans of AMA Supercross rider Ryan Dungey will recognize the Dunlop MX71 tire from his use of the model in competition, and if your riding style has a lot in common with his, you will probably enjoy what this tire has to offer.

Design And Tire Purpose

The first thing to remember is that this tire is not built for all track styles. There are designs meant for intermediate and softer dirt in this line, the MX71 is specifically the Dunlop dirt bike tire optimized for harder dirt surfaces, and the tire’s structure and tread pattern show it.

- Stiffer than competitors for more flexibility
- Increased durability over the MX71’s predecessors, the 745 and 739
- Differential tread patterns that work synergistically

Understanding The MX71 Tread Pattern

By using different but complementary designs in the front and rear, Dunlop engineered these tires to provide a unique handling experience that suits many riders’ styles. The front tire uses a cross-stitch pattern that makes for improved cornering traction that many riders will recognize because it innovates from the tire designs that have delivered consistent cornering performance across a variety of 2- wheeled machine designs.

The rear tire uses what riders have nicknamed the double tornado wave, a wide, combination of lugs and knobs that digs in to provide traction during acceleration while cooperating with the front-end design to improve the bike’s overall handling. The result is one of the best dirt bike tires on the market today, according to most reviews and many of the pros who choose them.

Customizing Your Dirt Bike Further

While the right tire is a big part of what makes a bike work with a rider’s style, it is not the only component. If you are looking to optimize your bike for your best performance, you need to be able to find cheap motorcycle parts from the best manufacturers out there today, so you don’t compromise on quality. While that is a tall order, it is not an impossible one.

If you want to get the best prices on the parts the pros use, you need to have a great source and a savvy eye for sales. The source matters because only the largest collections of parts and accessories will be able to carry the full range of gear you are looking for, and large suppliers can also provide better deals because of their volume of business. On top of that, when those big retailers online have closeouts, you can get performance parts for as much as 80 percent off the MSRP. It’s just a matter of shopping smart and knowing where to go for the best bike parts for any motor sports.

Is Playing Professional Sports Risky?

match fitness

When the body says “It’s enough” and the coach asks for more - top athletes must decide whether they want to push their physiological capabilities to the limits and become disabled after the end of their careers, or not.

Whenever we find out about the decision of a professional athlete that he/she finished his/her sports career on the threshold of the age of 30, we are very surprised because it’s considered that they did it too early, at the very peak of their abilities, while they were match fit.

Cricket player Kevin Pietersen, who played 275 internationals for England, leaves no doubt regarding when athletes can still be sure they got what it takes to compete on a high level, and recently told Betway the following:

“I was always asking myself a series of questions: How do I feel in training? Have I got the ability to defend the best ball that a bowler could run into a bowl at me when I walk out into the middle? Or have I not? If so, where do I need to focus my attention?”

However, everything becomes clear when it’s learned that in recent seasons athletes have spent more time on scanners and stethoscopes than with the ball. Injuries followed one another, whether it was an ankle, a knee, abdominal surgery, or some of the many other misfortunes that contributed to a certain great athlete saying goodbye to sports fields much earlier than he or she should have.

When Too Early Is Actually On Time

It may be too early but is still on time, because these athletes manage to avoid the fate of some of their colleagues, including those who were forced to visit hospitals and rehabilitation centers regularly, and even to “hang out” with crutches and wheelchair.

Frequent injuries of those athletes, who don’t recognize that it’s time for the end, can prevent them from continuing to do some other job after a successful career and thus, ensure their existence.

Playing top sports, whose requirements exceed the physiological capabilities of the organism, especially in modern times, usually represents walking on the edge of a knife. Most experts agree that the human body isn’t able to respond to the challenges, especially nowadays, when athletes are expected to be in top shape all the time and when competition seasons last longer and training becomes harder and more demanding.

For example, the top results of athletes who built their careers during the 70s and 80s of the last century would be only within the limits of the average today. We can only assume what their current colleagues will face, athletes who have much greater efforts and expectations before them. What will their body and organism look like when one day they end their careers and reach more mature years?

What Happens When Athletes Are Carried Away By Glory?

Sport has long been turned into an ordinary display of strength. Everything is so commercialized and there’s so much insistence on better results that athletes have turned into a kind of modern gladiators, who spend most of their youth in gyms and sports halls.

Sport has ceased to be recreation and entertainment but has become hard physical work, which requires a lot of knowledge and skills, mostly shed sweat. The burdens are so great that it’s illusory to expect that all this could pass without any consequences.

Athletes themselves have also contributed to that because, carried away by the glory that has illuminated them or is yet to happen to them, consciously or not, they often cross the limits of their own possibilities. And what consequences remain is best seen by the fact that most of them become empty personalities after retirement.

Most miss the opportunity to prepare in time for the end of an active sports career, which is an act traumatic enough itself. Until yesterday, they were celebrated and praised, sometimes they believe that they are special in everything, and then they face the truth that they were interesting and important only while they were competing. After that, many don’t even know what to do with themselves, fall into lethargy and depression, and even, in some situations, think about suicide.

The only way to prevent that is to start thinking about it in time, to prepare and face reality two or three years earlier, that is, to find some purpose for their later existence in life outside of sports arenas.

The fact is, however, that no one cares about retired athletes and that their fate, as a rule, takes place far from the public eye. No one has yet launched an initiative to monitor the health status of athletes after the active termination of their careers. These results would be of great importance for those who still play sports. That should be in everyone’s interest, right?

Guide To Building A Perfect Golf Swing

guide build perfect golf swing frugal fitness sports

Ok, maybe there is no such a thing as a perfect swing, but you sure can get close to it. There are certain training aids and tips that could guide you through several stages of your golf swing. Take a look at this guide and improve your swing technique.

1. Hands In A Lower Position

By keeping your hands low, you will manage to reduce the height of the shot. In other words, the lower you keep your hands, the lower the ball will fly. Of course, there are other methods to achieve a low ball flight: you can use a stronger club or move the ball back in the stance. Still, they are not as reliable as keeping your hands low.

2. Keep Your Forearm Parallel To Your Spine

This will help you gain accuracy and firm hit. The right forearm should be kept parallel to the spine, the left wrist should be flat, while your elbows and arms make the shape of a triangle. If you make that position, you will know for sure that your shoulders are rotated just the way they should be for the backswing to be perfect.

3. Practice With The Box

The issue with slicers' swing path is that it goes too much outside, while it's necessary to have a path coming mildly from the inside. This is where you can practice with a box - remove the top half of a ball box and place it on one side. The box should be aligned with your target line. Try to make a path that enables the shaft to pass over the golf ball box. For the slicers issue, place the box on the line forward of the ball.

4. Get Rid Of The Early Release

Also called "the flip", this happens if your body gets in front of the ball too far. Due to this, the club lags, most often with an open face. Your hands will naturally try to close the face during the impact, but it is a tough thing to do even for much more experienced golf players. The right timing is very difficult to achieve. So, you need to practice in order to get a firm left side. That way, your body will be further away from the ball, preventing the flip. Of course, there are quicker and simpler ways to practice the proper position. Many online stores selling quality golf equipment like Swing Eagle also recommend trainer brackets that are very helpful in correcting mistakes in your swing.

5. Use Your Body

The fact is that your strength and power that you need for a swing doesn't actually come from your arms but your whole body. So, you need to learn how to use your whole body to give your swing power. First, your body should be in a dead-stop position, while the ball should be in front of the club, at address. Don't make a backswing. Instead, drag the ball into the air. If you use your hands too much in order to control the club, you will probably find it difficult at the beginning. Still, in time, you'll learn to move your whole body together with the club, managing to drag the ball into the air more frequently.

6. Keep The Special K

It's possible even for an experienced golfer to get sidetracked from time to time. That usually happens when the flex in the back leg is lost while they are setting up the right distance. When the back leg isn't flexed, you will probably lose some balance during the backswing, affecting the impact. This is where the Special K can come in handy - bend forward from the hips, and back from your knees. When the back leg is flexed, there will be enough room for the arms to swing. If the position is correct, you will be able to draw a line from the top of your back to the tip of your elbow.

Get Great At Golf

There is no a good golfer in the world who didn't spend a lot of time perfecting their swing. It takes time and practice but with just the right tips, you will get there much faster. It also helps to buy the right frugal golf products. Now go take your golf game to the next level!

How To Shop For Golf Equipment On A Budget

how to shop for frugal golf equipment

Golf equipment can rapidly add up and make it an expensive hobby. While many professional players will get a professional fitting done, finding the right clubs at a discount is the best option for the beginner golfer. In time, you will know exactly what equipment you need. But, while you are still new to the game, you will need to try out different clubs to determine what suits you.

There are numerous ways to stretch your golf allocation and find the essential items that cost less cash. This guide provides tips on how to shop for golf equipment on a budget.

Global Shortages

Before looking at how to get the cheapest golf equipment, it is worth mentioning that the global shortage on materials has also hit the golf market. Add to this the worldwide supply crisis and you will be prepared for some difficulty and delays in obtaining certain items. A third factor having an impact is that Covid spurred many more people (two million) to play golf, driving up demand for golfing products. Considering these items together means that you must be on your toes to find golf equipment, especially for a bargain price.

Rental Equipment

If you are still a novice at golf, take note that there is no shame in renting the golf equipment you need. This is particularly true when it comes to clubs, and you are still finding out which ones are right for you. Some companies allow you to pay a monthly fee to use and return golf clubs as you please.

Buy Second-Hand Golf Equipment

Some golf shops will give golfers a discount on new gear when they trade in their old equipment. This is good news for you because it means that used golf equipment is readily available at reasonable prices. You can also get second-hand equipment from online sites such as eBay or Amazon for frugal rates.

Clearance Sales

Take advantage of outlet stores having clearance sales. You can pick up some bargains at these places. All this is done online so there is no inconvenience of wading through bins. Plus, these sites usually have well-known brands although the items are earlier models.

One-Day Deal Sites

Sign up for the mailing lists from certain deal sites so that you are primed when an item that you are looking for becomes available. Otherwise, you must remember to log in daily and could miss out. As the deals are only valid for 24 hours, you need to be ready to purchase when something suitable at a good price is online.

Quality Online Resources

Golf carts are subject to hard wear and tear. On the subject of golf cart parts, the item that needs the most frequent replacement is the keys. Golfers lose their golf cart keys so often that it pays to have a spare set on hand. Get the factory-made items rather than cutting a set; this is one thing you do not want to skimp on.

Erosion of the suspension is common in the coil-over suspension, struts, shocks, and leaf springs. The age of the cart is another reason to be prepared to spend on these parts. You can improve the stability of your cart with a golf cart lift kit to increase the height of your tires beyond that standard nineteen inches. You may also need to keep an eye on your clutch, controller, solenoid, battery cables, and motor. You want to shop for golf cart parts like mufflers, brakes and shocks from an online source that has a wide range of quality parts.

Conclusion

If you follow these tips, you need not pay an arm and a leg for reasonably priced golf equipment. Golfing should be fun and not a hobby that breaks the bank.

5 Types Of Sports Injuries You Should Know About

most common types of sports injuries

The topic of sports injuries is vital for all athletes, whether you are a weekend warrior or an elite athlete. Some people might think that they don't need to strengthen their bodies because they are not professional athletes, but that is not true. Even if you are playing for fun, it's essential to keep your body healthy and strong to reduce injury risk. Sports injuries can occur at any time, whether during a game, training, or sport-specific exercise. This means that all athletes need to be prepared for damages. This article covers the 5 most common injuries an Austin sports injuries specialist can help address.

1. Hamstring Strains

The hamstrings are made up of 3 muscles semimembranosus, semitendinosus, and biceps femoris. These muscles extend from the back of the knee to the bottom of your pelvis. When these muscles become tight or weak, you might experience pain in the back of your thigh or lower back. This is called a hamstring strain, and it happens when one of the muscles in your hamstring is stretched or torn. It's widespread for athletes to get a hamstring strain, mainly if you're involved in sports that involve explosive movements like sprinting, jumping, and changing direction quickly.

2. Sprained Ankles

Ankle sprains are one of the most common types of sports injuries. An ankle sprain is an injury to the ligaments surrounding your ankle. The severity of the damage can vary depending on how many ligaments are injured and how badly they are injured. If you have a mild ankle sprain, it might only be painful, but if your ankle rolls badly, it can cause damage to the ligaments and lead to ankle joint instability or 'giving way.'

3. Tendinopathy

Tendinopathy is an injury caused by overuse. It usually occurs in a tendon near a joint. The most common tendinopathies are Achilles tendinopathy, patella tendinopathy, shoulder tendinopathy, and rotator cuff tendinopathies. Tendinopathies result from repetitive or prolonged stress on the tendon that damages or weakens it.

4. ACL Rupture

ACL stands for the anterior cruciate ligament. Sometimes this ligament can rupture if you put too much pressure on it, hyperextend your knee, or do something that requires a rapid movement of the knee. ACL ruptures are common in sports with pivoting and sudden changes in direction like soccer, basketball, tennis, and football and they can also occur simultaneously along with Mensicus, LCL, and/or MCL tears in severe injuries.

5. Ruptured Discs

A ruptured disc can be a very severe and painful injury. The discs cushion the spine's vertebrae are made up of an inner soft, gel-like center and an outer ring of cartilage. If you put too much pressure on your back, it can cause one or more of these discs to rupture. This happens when the gel-like center leaks out and puts too much pressure on surrounding nerves, which can cause a lot of pain in your lower back or legs.

Sport Injury Summation

In summary, sports injuries are common among athletes and people in professions with high physical activity levels. The most common sports injuries are hamstring strains, sprained ankles, and tendinopathy. Ruptured discs and ACL tears have also become increasingly common. If you have suffered a sports injury, you need to see a sports medicine doctor for treatment and rehabilitation.

As strange as that may seem, the environment will decide the success of a cricket match. While several competitions are delayed due to environmental concerns, a single drizzle or heavy sun may have a big impact on the pitch.

It'll also affect the ball's rotation – how it connects with the floor, twists, and rebounds. Bowlers can have a feature that distinguishes them in poor conditions, because once the power goes up, the edge shifts to the batsmen.
