Why ISPs Have Bad Customer Service

why ISPs internet service providers have terrible customer service bad cable companies

Telecoms Today

The state of Hawaii has 12 internet service providers (ISP) available at its disposal and the 6th most connected state in the US, with 98% of the residents who have access to broadband internet i.e. speeds of 25 Mbps or more. Honolulu being the biggest metropolitan, gets the average speeds of about 14 Mbps, next to Pearl City with speeds of 15 Mbps. These speeds of the internet are above the average speed of state which is 10 Mbps.

ISP Industry Introduction

However, when it comes to customer service, year after year, huge broadband and cable companies remain unsuccessful to provide. For instance, the recent American Consumer Satisfaction Index was released by the end of 2025, and cable providers and ISPs continue to witness the worst customer satisfaction scores in the US. Such companies are so ruthless at what they do, they are more often than not outdone by even everyone's favorite punching bag: the IRS (Internal Revenue Service).

Different ISP Reviews By Hawaiians

When it comes to broadband service on a scale of 100, some of the leading ISPs continue to deliver the worst scores in an already terrible scenario:

"Internet Service Providers (ISPs) could not do any better when compared with the cable companies and the overall industry ratings which is at the same 62. The top three ISPs are Verizon FiOS (70), AT&T Internet (69), and Altice (63) that have rankings above the average. At the lowermost of the rankings are MediaCom (56), Frontier (55), and Windstream (57).

Cable Customer Service Concerns

After a few years or so, big broadband and cable companies would declare that they've finally witnessed the light and would be spending time to support their terrible customer service. As a couple of years ago, Comcast announced it had signed up a "Customer Experience VP" who will finally make the company's generally terrible customer service a topmost concern. Also, CEO Brian Roberts could be found no less than once a year stating that the company is heading for addressing the issue by hiring qualified people, refining support systems, and largely reconsidering the business's policies. You can also check for yourself Spectrum internet customer service that is constantly working on improving their customer's experience. Spectrum customer service department does this by automating and making the CS departments well equipped and trained to resolve the issues in no time.

Cutting The Cable Cord

Things are in the same way bad when it comes to the cable TV front, despite the increase in competition from live streaming providers, compulsory cable operations still can't seem to realize this whole phenomenon of "treating their customers with respect" mechanism. Though most detested industries such as airlines ranked in the 70s and some more prominent brands like Amazon reached the 80s, and cable TV is still struggling somewhere in the 50s and 60s.

When it comes to the cable TV sector, the development of live streaming video has provided its consumers with some relief. Streaming service providers which include Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon, consistently rate way much higher in customer satisfaction, for the reason that they give customers what they've been looking for ages: economical prices and flexible channel packages. In due course, cable operators would be required to play on price, nonetheless, they're seemingly waiting until immeasurable millions of their paying consumers have run away to greener grasses before really utterly revamping their business models. Though, the race in the TV space is intensifying either way.

Broadband Blunders

The broadband region is less favorable. With no significant regulatory error and slight competition, there's categorically no incentive to expand customer service or provide a better product in the majority of the markets. The emphasis remains on development for progress's sake (megamergers) and scale, minus the expansion of customer service in proportion. The final result should be impartially apparent, provided the broadband sector ranks inferior to a long list of extensively loathed sectors such as the banking, airline, and insurance businesses. That kind of achievement requires some thoughtful, continuous efforts that the kind of monopoly bias money just can't buy.

Final Thoughts On ISP Interest

AT&T ($T) tops the television category with a score of 70, next to Verizon with a score of 68. That is thought-provoking as while those two businesses have their own customer service concerns, they are essentially unknowns, in the cable range.

The conventional cable companies Charter (NASDAQ: CHTR), Cox, and Comcast (NASDAQ: CMCS.A) all rank below the average for the business. Those big cable giants have promised to deliver better services, however, that visibly has not functioned.

25 Reasons To Work From Home Now - WFH ASAP!

25 Real Reasons Why It’s Brilliant To Work
From Home - WFH FTW

More people are working from home and ditching the boss. Skip the office politics and get things done with fewer interruptions, worthless meetings, and office politics. Here are 25 real reasons to WFH and skip the office grind.

1. Your Alarm Clock Becomes A Distant Memory

People are jarred awake by an annoying sound of an alarm clock. This sound alone induces stress. Working from home means that the first sound you hear in the morning are the birds and not a stress-inducing gizmo.

2. Your Work Shoes are Slippers

How many pairs of shoes have you bought for just work? Think of the hundreds if not thousands of dollars you save by working from home. Slippers are also easy to put on and oh so soft.

3. Your Coffee doesn’t spill all over the Dashboard

The first common morning tragedy, after the alarm clock, is the mishandling of coffee and it’s horrible demise on your car’s dashboard. Sometimes, you consider licking the puddle off the dashboard. best cute puppy blog

4. Your Dog doesn’t run after your Car

I knew a three-legged dog once who ran super fast after its owner who had to head off to work. Don’t ever exercise your dog with your car! Working from home means your dog is as relaxed as you.

5. Do I need to say anything about Bosses?

Boo bosses!

6. The Mind opens beyond the Cubicle

There’s a world out there that is colored with real color, not the color of the photos you hang on the corkboard in your cubicle of your dream destinations. Get out in the air.

7. Your Online Checks are Direct Deposited.

Working from home usually means online and therefore all the money you get paid is online and can be easily transferred to your bank account.

8. Your Bills are all Paid Online

Same as #7. You’re cool like that.

9. You can Tan by the Pool with your Laptop

Working from home also means working anywhere there’s Internet. Fortunately, every public spot has wifi, which means you can splash your feet and work, or not.

10. You can sleep in.

Sleep if you're tired, no judgement.

11. You can work from any Cafe in the World

Again, Laptop and you is all that’s required to make money from anywhere in the world. “Cafe” is for the ladies who love Lattes.

12. The View is better than at your old job

Working from home or anywhere in the world gives you access to, well, the world and what job can beat that view?

13. You Customize your Schedule to Work only 2 hours a Day

You’re the boss, applesauce.

14. You Earn Money by ranting on your Blog

Attraction Marketing is your friend when you are yourself to your followers online. If you’re having a bad hair day, talk about it on your blog and get thousands of supporters!

15. You Earn Money Promoting Products you use and Love

There is nothing better than being a living, breathing endorsement.

16. People Look up to You

Working from home is a feat that many people aspire to.

Just the fact that you really do work full-time from home is going to cause some attention.

17. Your Friends are Clueless how you Make Money Online

The tables turn when you prove to all your so-called know-it-all friends that you actually know more when it comes to working from home successfully.

18. Your Income from the internet is Climbing Every Month

You know that the more value you provide on the internet and the longer it stays on the Internet, the more it will be noticed. This means more traffic, more views and more purchases.

19. Your Blog starts Ranking #1 on Google

If you’re a blogger or Content Marketer, you know how important this is!

20. Your Online Marketing is recruiting for you while you Sleep

Having your Brand online is great because it will attract people from all over the world around the clock. Working from home actually is like working all over the World, because of everyone who uses the internet, you will build relationships globally and interact with them via your blog or website.

21. Your Customers Love You. . .

Their loves gives you more work flexibility.

22. Your following On Social Media

Now on Social Media retweets you, repins you, shares, favorites you, subscribes, and other amplifications of your content.

23. You Sleep without Stress.

No Sunday scaries!

24. You have a team or staff building your brand or organization.

Effective business is better with people working together. Even though you work from home, you might have someone creating graphics for you in France and someone doing your Copywriting in Moscow. Having a core group of devoted staff makes home based Entrepreneurs unstoppable.

25. You Get Residual Income Every Month, Even When You Don’t Work

In some businesses from home you earn from your entire organization of associates, like in Real Estate, Insurance and Network Marketing. You can truly earn passive income whether you work or not, and while you're home or traveling the digital nomad life!

WFH ASAP! WFH wins!

The jury is in, it's time to work from home now, or at least work remotely! WFH FTW!!

Back & Better Than Ever! Running & Cupcakes 4 The Win!

Contributed By Samantha Zeigler, Author of Running & Cupcakes
It has been 25 days since I blogged last. I owe you all an apology for just dropping off the face of the planet for almost a month – but life went to crazy town, and I just couldn’t do it all! I will probably still not write as much as I used to, but I’m back.
With that being said, let’s start with what 2013 has in store for me.
I absolutely KNOW, without a doubt, that 2013 is going to be an amazing year. It all started with an incredibly party that my roommates and I threw New Year’s Eve – don’t we clean up well?
When we did the head count for our toast we had 15 people in our house! It was one of the best countdowns into the New Year that I can remember. It helps that my little bro and his girlfriend were with us, and a certain someone that I had been seeing for a few weeks was also here with us.
That same certain someone that decided on Friday it would be a good idea for us to go from exclusive dating to an exclusive couple. Yes, that’s right. I have myself a new boyfriend! I promised him anonymity if I wrote about him – so we’ll just call him the boyfriend going forward.
Speaking of the boyfriend – so I told him I wanted to learn kettlebell stuff (that’s the majority of his workouts) to shake up my routine, to use on my clients, etc. So we went to his gym yesterday and I got my ass handed to me!
This is what I looked like after all of that… (do you blame me?)
And then he came to the gym with me today and I got my ass handed to me again:
The only reason I’m awake right now is because I’m waiting for the washer to get done…
I also ran intervals on the treadmill twice last week and really kicked out some random, song based intervals all at 7:30 minutes/mile. I’m getting way faster!
What else is making this year amazing so far?
I won the weight loss challenge I was in! I lost 10 total pounds, which was a total of 7.09% of my body weight! I’m so excited to have been able to push myself to lose those last 10 pounds, through the holidays! I feel great right now!
So really – can you think of any better reasons to say 2013 is going to be amazing? Awesome friends, a new man, new workouts, faster running legs, and finally shedding those last 10 pounds. Sounds perfect to me!
So now what’s in store for the rest of the year? Honestly, I don’t really know. I have some ideas:
  • Snowboarding
  • Tour de Patrick
  • Tough Mudders and/or Spartan Races
  • Figure Competition
This is the first year since I started running that I haven’t had all my races planned to death. I’m going to sit back, relax, and take it all in stride. I’m also really enjoying more strength training and less running, it’s a refreshing change of pace.
I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to see what the rest of this year has to offer. Stay tuned, I feel like it’s going to be an amazingly fun and wild ride!
What about you – how do you feel about 2013 so far?

Big Changes For LIFT, LOVE LIFE!

Contributed By Maria Waldron, Author of Lift, Love, Life
Well hello there! And welcome to my new site! I told you that changes were a-comin’ and I have to say, I’m really loving these big changes. In fact, I can’t stop opening up my site just to admire the beautiful work from my designer. And thank you so much to everyone who has made the move with me, you have no idea how much it means to me to be able to start fresh with this blog but still have the same faithful friends :)
As for the next big change?
I start my 200 hour yoga teacher training TOMORROW MORNING. To say that I’m excited is an understatement. I am besides myself just thinking about all of the exciting things I’ll learn, the new people I’ll meet, and the possibility of this adventure changing my life. I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to sleep tonight ;)
So why do I think this will be a life changing event for me? Well, because it already has. But let me back up for a hot minute.
In 2008, I took my first yoga class at the Freedom Aquatic Center at George Mason University and instantly fell in love with how my body felt. But then I moved to Georgia to be with my husband (Army stuff, what else?), back to Virginia, and then finally here. I did yoga on and off during these times but for me it was always about the physical benefits and never about this whole mind-body mumbo jumbo thing you hear everyone and their momma raving about. When I got pregnant with Caleb, I got serious about yoga again and decided to get back into a regular practice by going twice a week. I found a new studio, discovered a new teacher that I couldn’t get enough of, and I ended up having a wonderful pregnancy due to my regular routine of  yoga, running, and CrossFit. All was well, life was great, and I felt fan-freaking-tastic.
And then I had Caleb.
I don’t mean to scare any new or potential moms out there but there is no way in hell anyone can prepare you for the shitstorm of hormones you’ll experience after having a baby. Even if you do everything by the book by eating right and exercising throughout your pregnancy, those hormones are coming for you and nothing’s stopping them. Though, I did have a friend who had a baby around the same time as me, and as much as I love this woman, when she told me the hormone fairies skipped her I immediately wanted to sucker punch her in the throat. And I promise that’s not normal for me.
As much as I tried to keep it together for my new son, for those around me, and even for this blog, I really had some dark days postpartum. And I mean that literally. There were days where as beautiful and sunny as it was outside, everything was still gray and dreary for me. I would look at Caleb, see sunshine, then look away only for things to get black again. Of course, I had my awesome days but for the most part, there was always this internal struggle for me to do even the simplest task like clearing the dishwasher. I really had to talk myself into doing things because I knew they were necessary and because I love my son so much that I despised the thought of him ever seeing me fall apart.
I don’t know if maybe the husband had been home, things would have been any different. There was nothing stopping these waves of hormones. And even though Ranger school and his deployment didn’t last that long, just knowing what he was going through was enough for me to keep everything to myself to avoid stressing him out. But I’m human and I still caught myself lashing out at the poor guy the few times I did hear from him. In fact, there was a moment clear as day when I knew I something was up. After not hearing from my husband for weeks and hearing about a helicopter crash in his unit, he uploaded a harmless, silly picture poking fun at another military branch on facebook when I suddenly lost my marbles. Now, that picture makes me laugh hysterically but at the time, I couldn’t contain myself and ended up crying for hours to my best friends in Seattle and California about everything in the world that was bothering me at the time. It was the strangest thing ever, and SO unlike my usual, bubbly self. I realized then that something was up and that I needed something other then running and lifting weights to clear my head and zap this funk I was in.
I hinted in our four year anniversary post that I sought counseling, but I also turned to yoga again. I loved running and Crossfit, but the high I felt always seemed to disappear as quickly as it came on. So I went to a yoga class one day, thinking it was going to be just like every other class I’ve been to and loved. But for some inexplicable reason, I walked out of that class and everything clicked for me. I don’t know if it was the meditation coupled with the deep breathing, or if it’s something our teacher said that resonated with me, but it was that one class that I will never forget, where everything began to connect and I finally started to understand the whole mind-body connection. I drank the “yoga mumbo jumbo” kool-aid and finally got it.
That class taught me that all this perfection and this image that I was trying to attain as a new mom didn’t matter. That life wasn’t about trying to live a certain way, but to just live your life and let it take you where it needs to take you. I learned to take these strange feelings in stride and look at them with curiosity, and not enmity. It was then I learned how to step back, pause, and learn to understand how and why I was feeling that way, so that I could brace these feelings with a positive light.
Maybe my epiphany was a result of multiple counseling sessions coupled with my deep yoga practice, or maybe it was just my raging hormones finally subsiding, but it was that day and after that class when I finally felt the sun again. My world was light again, and it wasn’t just when I lovingly looked at my child.
Yoga really came to me at a time when I needed it most, and it changed my life. I finally learned that yoga isn’t just breathing and stretching. It’s not about learning how to do a handstand or headstand, instead it’s about learning how to stand. Since that one class, every time I practice, not only do I leave my mat physically and mentally stronger, but I walk away enlightened. Each practice reminds to approach life in a different and kinder manner, and it reminds me to strive to be a better person for myself and for everyone I love. And unlike the endorphins I get from other physical activities, the feelings last.
The reason I consider this a life changing journey is because after this training experience, I’ll finally have the opportunity to change someone’s life how yoga changed mine. If there is a mother out there that feels the same way I did after having a baby, I want use my experience and be there for her. I want to let her know that she’s not alone, and that there is a way out of the darkness. And if I can give an inkling of how freaking amazing yoga makes both my body AND mind feel to just one person, I’ll know that I have been a successful teacher. That’s life changing in itself knowing that I can make a small difference in someones life.
And that is why I am besides myself and cannot wait till tomorrow morning. It’s going to be a long night for me for sure, but the end result will be totally worth it ;) By March, I’ll be certified to teach hot and power vinyasa yoga. So yes, big thing’s are definitely poppin’!
Have a great weekend world, I’ll be up to my nose in anatomy books :)

Healthy Holiday Fitness Thinking & Linking

Contributed By Amanda Loudin, Author of Miss Zippy
Great ways to avoid feeling like the Grinch this holiday season
With Thanksgiving upon us and the madness of the holidays now officially in full swing, I’m going to check out for the remainder of the week. But before I do, I want to share with you some of the good things fellow bloggers have going on right now–ways to combine healthy living and in some cases, giving. I encourage you to use these opportunities to stay on track, keep the holiday weight at bay, and to spread some holiday cheer:
Challenges:
Amanda at Run to the Finish is hosting her annual Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge. This fun, creative challenge is in its fourth year now and it gets better each round. This year she is spicing it up with more great prizes, a Facebook page,Twitter chats (use hashtag #bestfoot)  and experts offering their advice and feedback. I’m lucky enough to be helping this year and I’ll be guest posting, as well as answering questions, the week of Nov. 26. Join us!
Runner’s World is hosting its second annual running streak challenge. The magazine wants to know if you can run at least a mile each day from Nov. 22 through Jan. 1. I think it’s an awesome idea, and if it weren’t for CIM, I’d be right on board this year. Maybe they’ll let me count 26.2 on Dec. 2 and spread those miles out over the month? Anyhow–get in on this fun and social way stay on track. Twitter hashtag is #RWRunStreak.
Lindsay, from the Lean Green Bean and Elle from Nutrionella are hosting an Elf for Health Challenge. For six weeks, you get and give the support of a virtual training buddy to help stay on track with holiday fitness goals. The challenge comes with daily tasks, challenges, a Facebook page, and of course, prizes. Look for updates on Twitter under the hashtag #Elf4Health.
Giving back:
With the rush of the holidays, it’s easy to forget that Hurricane Sandy wasn’t that long ago and that people are still hurting. Michele at NYC Running Mama is hosting a virtual 10k/5k (take your pick) on Dec. 8 in an effort to raise money for the Tunnels to Towers Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. Minimum donation is $20, and for every $20 you donate, you get an entry into a ginormous prize raffle ($2,500 worth of running goodies!). This will be one-week post-marathon for an athlete like me, so I do intend to muster slow miles for the cause.
Along the same vein, Kara from Kara Runs is hosting a virtual run for Sandy relief as well. The run can be any of your choosing throughout the remainder of November. She’s already raised some impressive dollars but can always use more participants. Go here to get more details.
Finally, I’m a bit late on this one, but I had to make note of the generous donation made by Christine at Love, Life, Surf. She hosted an Erica Sara giveaway on her blog. She pledged a dollar for each entry received, up to $1,000. The giveaway closed last Monday, Nov. 12, but Christine still ended up donating $1,000 to Sandy relief. Her generosity and kindness to fellow New Yorkers is nothing short of impressive. We can all take a page from her book.
I am certainly just scratching the surface here with these goings on, but wanted to make sure that you were in on what I think are some of the best ways to make the most of the holidays.

These individuals are all approved by Rocky Balboa, Philadelphia's favorite son
However, Ivan Drago says "I must break you" to all of you... don't let him!

Hey Frugal Fitness Fans! Time for another round (Round IV = Rocky IV theme!) of frugalicious respect that I like to call "Get ON My Internets". Each installment salutes the positive & healthy online influencers out there working hard in cyberspace (and in the real world), instead of tearing them down like the chumps at Get Off My Internets. 1) Gene Bergeron of BMF Sports: Lift Without Limits
This guy is what these lists are all about! Gene is a paraplegic C5/C6 champion wheel chair bodybuilder and overall very positive individual. He's very active on BodySpace, Facebook, and social media in general and is very well respected in the bodybuilding community. He is very motivating and supportive of others and truly a great example of pushing your limits and succeeding regardless of the obstacles life throws in your path.

2) Dustin Bratton of Bratton Fitness:
Dustin is indeed a champion of inspiring others! He got out of shape working his office job after college but decided to get in peak physical condition by educating himself and winning his office 'Biggest Loser" challenge as well as the First Annual Frugal Fitness 90 Day Transformation Challenge! After improving his life and inspiring others, he decided to get his NASM Personal Training Certification and went on to build an incredible personal training business clientele in record time! He's always positive and active on Facebook and other social media platforms, and he's no inspiring clients and readers in his hometown of Danville, Illinois and worldwide! He is a continuing source of inspiration for me.

3) Casey Desmond:
Casey Desmond is one of Boston's and electro-pop's most talented musicians! She thrived on NBC's hit show The Voice, featured on MTV's "I'm 16 and Pregnant" and other shows as part of the soundtrack, and has won countless awards for her singing and musical accomplishments. She's also an experienced and talented artist, fashion designer, model, and producer. This starlet has some incredible tunes, cool threads, and a rabid fan base that she always finds time to chat with and entertain via Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and more! You can catch plenty of her local Boston shows with her talented guitarist Taylor Barefoot at their kickass studio / venue The Sound Museum and throughout Boston and the US! I guarantee her songs will be stuck in your head, and in a good way!

4) Elizabeth Siegel of TofuSquirrel:
Liz is an extremely talented artist hailing from Boston and Lesley University. Her incredible and unique artwork has been featured in universities, museums, music acts, concerts, storefronts, comic cons, magazines, newspapers, and more throughout the United States! She's won too many awards to name and is an friendly, innovative, and independent artist that you should get to know! I need to get off my frugal ass and buy some of her artwork asap!

5) JoAnn Lefebvre, Founder and CEO of Shift 2 Inbound Marketing:
I've know JoAnn for years now and she's an influential internet marketing expert in New England and beyond. JoAnn and her company has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs, companies, and products get off the ground and thrive in today's difficult economy and cutthroat competition. She has done this with a tireless work ethic, education in new technologies, online marketing expertise, superior data analysis, and networking with some of the best in the business. She's obviously very active on social media and other online platforms and has helped my grassroots frugal marketing a great deal over the years!

6) Nick Paniagua of Sacrifice and Honor (SH) Athletics:
StraightEdge for the win! That's right, Nick is drug-free bodybuilder, fitness model, and nutrition guru that is all about looking good and performing at your best without the juice! Nick is a well-known on BodySpace and is also pretty established on Facebook and Twitter. He's another great positive role model in the fitness industry these days that is littered with steroids, hgh, pro-hormones, illegal stimulants, and other substance abuse.

7) The Frugal Chef:
I've been familiar with The Frugal Chef (Mary Ann Jacobs Allen) for over a year now and I am extremely happy that she is getting more and more publicity these days! She certainly deserves it and deserves more if you ask me! She has over 500(!!!) amazing YouTube Frugal Recipe Videos along with an enormous website and a strong Facebook presence as well. She does a great job catering to her English and Spanish speaking readers and viewers, and I know she will continue to inspire and help many others to eat well without going broke!

8) Ed aka "Old Superman" of Popps Fitness:
OK so I had to add an extra person to this list, but I think it's warranted! Ed is 56 years old and is in much better shape than nearly any 26 year old on the planet! This influential BodySpace and social media personality is an authority on Master's Bodybuilding and all things fitness. He is truly inspiring and proof that fitness and bodybuilding can be an ageless pursuit!
